    Not even thinking about blessings here at the moment. We got bad news yesterday, our 14-year-old Tiggy-tiger (been poorly for about 6mths and had lots of trips to the vet) has been diagnosed with kidney cancer and will be getting put out of his misery this afternoon.
    Big Big hugs & thoughts with you today Ollie :kisses3: :grouphug: I had my Labrador, Penny, put to sleep last Friday so know how you're feeling. I'll be thinking about you today (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

    Does anyone mind if I join in?

    I read the thread daily but have never posted before, here are my five for yesterday/today:

    1. Waking up to the sun shining and the birds singing - truly magical and spring is definately here!;
    2. Homemade spag bol cooked for tonight's tea, and bananas defrosting for banana loaf;
    3. Having a no spend day yesterday;
    4. Replying to an ad on freecycle and crossing all my fingers and toes that they pick me - they are offering 1 tonne of builders sand which will save me a fortune when laying my new patio; and
    5. Both me and OH bringing packed lunches to work today.

    This thread truly helps me to focus on what is important - each and every one of you inspire me xx

    Stopping off here at mid-day to say to Olliebeak - thank you so much for crossing your fingers for our washing machine. It worked! The man has been and gone, something had come unattached inside. No parts needed. I've put one wash on and it's gone through the cycle fine. Am about to tackle the build up of sheets and towels.

    Can I cross my fingers in return for you and Tiggy-tiger this afternoon? It's very sad but sounds right and I'm sending hugs.

    Waves to atypicalblonde - welcome.

    Reverbe - your ability to find money is astonishing. I wish I had that skill. I bet you'd be really good at something like field archaeology. x

    Be back tonight to post my five.

    Kiwiblue, I wish your DH all the best for his operation and will think of both of you. Looking forward to some good news hopefully soon! xxx

    Olliebeak, so sorry about your poor little Tiggy-tiger, I hope you get some consolation by knowing that he is in Cat-heaven now and no longer suffering. Butit must be very hard for you and you must miss him a lot (((((((HUGS)))))))

    Reverbe, tell me your secret, how do you manage to buy a Cadburys Fruit and Nuts and then STORE IN CUPBOARD (as opposite to storing in tummy, which is what I would do?) You are amazing!

    Pleasures for today:

    1 - The good weather, it never fails to make me feel better!

    2 - Acupuncture was not painful today and it gave me a good sense of energy.

    3 - Lunch with DS, mixed salad with tuna and greek yogurt with coconut for pudding.

    4 - All the wash in the machine, about to be put out in the garden, washing baskets empty!

    5 - Anticipated pleasure of evening with friends celebrating St Patrick's Day with colcannon, veggie sausage and apple & rhubarb stew.

    Love to all xxx
    Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
