Five OS Pleasures in your day today

Hi all
The rest of my pleasures for today are;
2) Finding that you can buy bags of mixed pulses/lentils for soups so bought a bag today & anticipate using them in my next s/c soup concoction.
3) Using my time in the clinic waiting room to read my book (Before I die) most enjoyable as not only a good read but a rare treat as I never have the time or the energy to read books normally.
4) Picking Dandelion leaves & giving them to my appreciative bunnies (Daisy Boo & Primrose) as it was too windy to allow them outdoors today.
5) Having a lovely family hug with dh & ds & realising that I am so very lucky to be surrounded by such love.

I love the diversity of the posts in here. It's the differences that make this place so special and positive. Reverbe, please, please keep posting! You, like everyone else in here, make me look at life in a newly appreciative way and that is just fabulous. I've only been visiting here since early January but consciously noticing and celebrating the small and simple pleasures in my and other people's lives is probably the most important thing I have done this year.
Anyway a handful more pleasures from me...
1. Seeing the cucumbers seedlings grow before my eyes - all of them have hatched. I forecast a cucumber glut this summer!
2. Spending a Boots £5 voucher and picking up some freebies as well.
3. Inventing a lovely mackerel, rice and eggs kedgeree type dish for supper tonight which we had with lots of fresh salady stuff from today's veggiebox.
4. Getting some very positive feedback about the creative workshop I ran a couple of weeks ago and encouragement to do more like it.
5. Feeling so grateful that we have my children's sport's coach in our lives. He has a teenage child of his own and understands the age-group. He's kind and funny and generous, and he's very hard working and expects my sons to be like that too. He's a good man and a lovely role model for all of us.
Big hugs to all that need them and 'sweet dreams' to everyone.0 -
Tuesday blessings:
1. Visit from DS1 for his usual 'breakfast and catch up' session - I love our morning chats and that feeling of being his 'confidante'.
2. Lunch was some gorgeous chicken and stuffing sandwiches (courtesy of our previous night's dinner).
3. Being able to visit a couple of tenants and give assistance - makes me feel useful and justifying my wages.
4. Evening meal (again courtesy of monday's evening meal) was chicken, chips and remaiins of deli-salads all prepared by OH - shock/horror:eek:.
5. Must apologise to scousewife for my final one! - dancing around the living room last night at Liverpool's win over Real Madrid - well done the lads!0 -
Hi all
Oh Olliebeak your no.5 made me laugh - Despite me being blue thru & thru even I cannot deny that LFC got a great result last night.
Ive had a really good day today so my 5+ o/s pleasures for today are;
1) Having a good nights sleep last night & waking up feeling refreshed & ready to take on the housework. :j
2) Putting my day to good use by giving all of the downstairs of my house a good clean & seeing & smelling the results afterwards.
3) Managing to get 2 loads of washing done & getting the majority of it dried on the line outside.
4) Watching my 2 bunnies doing little bunny hops & running fast through thier tunnel as they were so happy to be outside in their run today.
5) Being delighted that my dh has finished making the built in wardrobes in the spare room & beig amazed at how much storage space we now have (probably not for long though!)
6) Cooking a bacon joint in s/c for the 1st time & it cooking beautifully & falling to pieces when taken out.
7) An anticipated pleasure is tasting the bacon & lentil soup once it has cooked overnight in the s/c (hope it tastes as nice as my dm's)
hugs to all who may need them

Hello all
Lovely to read about your blessings, as ever. It puts me in a mellow mood for bedtime
My blessings today include
1. good sleep last night - always helps!
2. A lovely cup of tea made for me at work ( we do take turns but it's so lovely to sink down into a chair and be handed a cup of tea!)
3. Some lovely crossword time with colleagues where we sat round in a huddle and worked out some clues
4. A lovely quick pizza for tea when I was starving - slightly OS as it was one to heat rather than a take away
5. Packing tonight for a trip away for a few days to celebrate DH's 50th (belatedly - it was in Dec but we are off to the Cheltenham Gold Cup for a bit of horse racing!)
Sleep tight tonight everyone

Reverbe, please don't stop posting. I like reading everyone's pleasures.
I have posted for a wee while but here are todays.
1) Getting a new cooker
2) Having a proper vent installed for my dryer
3) Baking in my new oven. My hobnobs and banana loaf were perfect. I realise how poorly my old oven was.
4) Chatting to my DS, 6, about having a friend over for a sleepover for the first time on Friday. He is so excited.
5) Finding a place near me that does sewing classes. I can finally learn to use my sewing machine.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500
June £511.99/£480 July £311.56/£4800 -
Reverbe please don't stop posting - read Caterina's signature, it's brill :T Also, I'm a Scot married to a Yorkshireman - freebies rock :dance::rotfl::dance:
I also have suffered from depression and have a tendancy to negative thinking.
Jvc - I can so relate to your daughter. About ten years ago, after starting a course of medication, I was amazed to feel that it was possible to feel "okay" - not happy or sad just "okay". Ten years on and I have to make myself consciously think of the positives each day - that's why this thread is so inspirational to me.
My five for today are very simple:
1. Sitting here reading OS
2. A lovely hot waterbottle at my back - oooohhhh it's bliss
3. My teenage daughter telling me she loves me - she is such a "prickly, mouthy" teenager at the moment - bless her, I wouldn't be 14 again if you paid me.
4. Said teenage daughter bringing me back 55p from "youffie" - youth club to you and me :rotfl:
5. My cup of tea that dh has made me
Take care everyone xxx0 -
Hi Reverbe
I really like your posts and loved you finding a daffodil in the street! Keep posting.0 -
Hi everyone. Not been around for a few days as had to dash off unexpectedly to help a friend in need, so will post a random selection of what has made me happy
1.Injured foot finally starting to mend - a whole 5 hrs sleep last night.
2. Glorious sunshine.
3. Unexpected visit from DD when I returned home this morning.
4. Seeing Dh for the first time for several days.
5. Catching up with everyones blessings - a pleasure in itself.
Reverbe as others have said - please continue to share your pleasures, its the wide diversity of our lives that adds to the enjoyment of reading this thread.0 -
This forum is such a nice way to round off my day, it's become a very pleasurable routine before bedtime
Wednesday blessings...
1. The post lady stopping to chat as I was getting in my car, even though she didn't have anything for me today. I love to hear about the antics of her two little ones
2. Finding a few more bargains in the local supermarket which is closing in 2 weeks. The shelves are sorely depleted but what there is, is mostly reduced in price.
3. My kitchen scissors have come home :j ! They've been missing for about two weeks now, I've asked DS on a couple of occasions about them to no avail, and this evening they just turned up in the kitchen drawer. I'm so pleased, having had them for years I'm very attached to them. Silly that we feel like that about some things, isn't it?
4. Made a delicious stir fry from odds in the fridge, and chicken satay with a pack from AF. It was really very tasty, so much so that the boys have asked that we add it to the fortnightly menu
5. Spent a lovely couple of hours with DNeighbours 10 y/o DD while she went to keep fit this evening. We played a very strange game which involved blowing feathers through a long tube - no idea what it was all about but we laughed til we cried! :rotfl:
Night night, sweet dreams
