    Mortgage-free Glee!
    My five for the day:

    - Smelling the fresh HM rolls in the oven.
    - Cutting up some manky but free veg from the local greengrocer and boiling them up for the chickens - them hearing them clucking with joy as they tuck in!
    - Planting more seeds for the garden
    - Whizzing up leftover lobster shells in the food processor ready to make stock - I am determined to get something else out of the shells!
    - Handing over some magazines to a chuffed freecycler that would otherwise have gone into recycling.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Feeling guilty as it is ages since I have got around to posting – where does the time go.
Anyway here are mine for last day or two.

    1. Took my son to a local Children’s Farm to visit the Chicks that had hatched in his school.
    2. Have been going to bed early each night to read for an hour before I go to sleep. How I love that hour.
    3. Put the Timer on for 15 minutes for each room downstairs to do a speed clean and rewarded myself afterwards with an episode of “Larkrise to Candleford” while I ate my lunch. Nice cup of tea and a cosy blanket to keep snugly and warm and I was happy
    4. Spent an hour in the garden, nice when the warmth of the sun is on me.
    5. My sister is pregnant so had a lovely hour with her in Mothercare mooching through all the baby stuff. She has no money and was talking about £600 prams and baby bedroom furniture for over £1000!!! I hope I have persuaded her to buy most of what she needs from ebay.

Dont stop posting Reverbe the great thing about this board is that the term "pleasure" means different things to different people as we all lead different lives - It wouldnt do if we were all the same and posting about the same things.
So your posts aren't about family or friends that doesn't mean they aren't relevant or interesting to read. As someone who struggles on a daily basis with depression I regularly read this thread to perk me up & enjoy the diversity each mse poster brings to the forum. :D

    1 of my blessings so far today;

    1) Having some time to go on my laptop & read 5 O/s pleasures thread (including yours Reverbe!) - Thank You all :T

I totally agree with you scousewife - all of these postings are interesting, there are times when I laugh with you all and other times I cry with you all - but I think we all enjoy the community spirit that I most certainly feel when I read everyone's posts. Reverbe I have missed your posts on here for a few days, but knew you were ok because I had seen you posting on other forums - if you were that uninteresting I would not have noticed you missing.
I think some of the postings on here make me realise what a good life I have and how many blessings I have. My DF has sometimes got on my nerves lately but after reading Karriebee's post I now appreciate I have him - warts and all.
I have the most loving and considerate DH whom I have been married to for 30 years soon - I read reverbe's posts and appreciate him more when I know she has not seen her OH for so long. I read kiwiblue's posts and count my blessings again.
Scousewife who is suffering with depression - nobody knows what depression is until they have suffered with it - the mind is an amazing thing but my goodness it can be the most awful companion - hope you have some good days Scousewife - made me realise reading your post how lucky I am not to have had a bout of it for quite a while - I will put this as one of my blessings for today.
Then when Kiwiblue is down on the beach with her dgc I am there with her as when somebody is snuggled up watching tv i think that's a good idea - someone having good luck - reverbe you finding a stamp and some money - all these things make us happy for you. Being so pleased to hear from Sparrer and Ampersand and that they are both back with us. So happiness can be infectious.

All your posts make a big difference to me and to most others as well
So thank you to everyone. Sorry I have waffled on. Speak to you later. Enjoy the rest of the day

Hi agree with the others in asking Reverbe not to stop posting, your posts always remind me that there are some very simple pleasures to be had.

Eg. porridge for lunch - some people would be upset about that, thinking "why can't I have roast beef?" instead you make it a pleasure.

    Keep posting, please!

    My five for the day:

1 - Good physiotherapy session with a funny and pleasant Aussie guy, and free (on the NHS).

2 - Large pan of lentils cooked, some for tonight (to use as "mince" for lasagne) and four reasonably large portions to freeze and use at a later date.

3 - Lunch with DS, stirfry with rice using up some pak choi that needed using up.

4 - Made cranberry cookies, they do not look very nice (or even like cookies to tell the truth) but are delicious and DS & DD loved them

5 - Bought myself Woman and Home magazine because it has another (like Marie Claire) offer for a freebie & facial at Origins.

Have a great evening, all! xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Afternoon all! Thank you so much for the ((hugs)) and good wishes, I'm feeling much brighter today and OH gave me lots of cuddles last night, in fact so did the cat!
Kiwiblue - all best wishes and prayers to you and OH for next week.
Excellent post JVS - I love reading about everyone's pleasures and what a varied lot of things people have in their lives.
Reverbe, please don;t stop posting I am always hugely impressed with your freebies - you and Caterina always remind me to see what I can get free or at a discount!
    Here are my 5 today:
    1. Beautiful sunshine after a morning of rain, it is very true when they say if you don't like the weather in Yorkshire wait 5 minutes!
    2. An email from an old employer sending her best wishes and offering to send my CV around her contacts. She was the best boss I ever had and a real inspiration.
    3. Making "Squidney" from a felt offcut and some stuffing - I love having an excuse to get the sewing machine out and having to make rather than buy presents is really stretching my creative side.
    4. Sitting here with a freebie Hot Chocolate which I got during fairtrade fortnight!
    5. Lookign forward to singing tonight and pancakes with HM lemon curd when I get home!
    Hugs to all (((())))

Just popping by to say don't you dare think of stopping your posts Reverbe! I love to hear when you have yet another freebie, all I get is samples of disposable nappies and the like :rotfl:. You make me smile when you say you find money in the street, my neighbour does that and keeps it all in a jar..at the end of last year she had over £19! (mind you I am concerned that if she keeps walking with her head down she'll bump into a lamp post one day ha ha). And as for all your free coffees, I'm so pleased to hear that you go out and about and get the benefit, it is sometimes all too easy to sit at home and bemoan ones lot but you make yourself go out and take advantage of whatever you can. So to add my voice to the others, please don't stop your posts, every one is different and just as valuable as the next. S x
