Today
1) Spending most of the day reading The Pioneer Woman Cooks, my new favourite website. She is so funny and has great recipes with step by step pictures plus printables. I'm dying to try her onion strings. She's writing a book:j

Wish you hadn't started me on her, thriftlady - antidotal in biggest, bestest way.

The kindness of many here is blurring my reply, which I should write despite Other Thing, as there have been OS pleasures.
1. Car 'sailed through' MOT 1st time - never before happened with any car for me.
2. Spoke to M, oldest friend, in France - she is 64 on Friday. We were 25 and 28 once.
3. Thanked Bus Pass yet again for free journeys as I collected car(£9.60 last time-3 part trip) and attended resumed Gym/Swim plus induction for same.
4. Heard Garrison Keillor repeats, so nearly managed 3 out of 3 for this blissful prog, - lovely BBC7.
5. Tackled some more difficult letters - theft of bag from locked car last October causing even worse probs atm, apart from Other Thing.
Another 5. Finding these posts again.
Another other 5. Speaking, before and after CAP appt with rm, and since. ALL is proceeding well, long haul survivor though she has been, CAP are now lifting the burden, giving very real, positive help.

Wishing for this as a major OS pleasure a.s.a.p:

:hello:A pleasure for today - seeing Sparrer's and Ampersand's postings on this page
Will give my other pleasures later

Hey Ampersand, good to see you back! Also glad to figure out what your avatar is - could not see it clearly and wasn't sure it was a toad - cute!
Thanks for all the good wishes for my new possible Italian friend!
Today's pleasures:
1- Ate the last of the HM baked beans boxes, this was the best batch so far and I am soaking more beans tonight for a repeat batch cooking soon.
2 - Walk to the farmers market in the shining sun and with a nippy wind to my face, blowing the cobwebs away.
3 - At the farmers market, one of the farmers sold me some garlic at half price (because the bulbs were a bit split) when I asked him whether it was good for planting. And he remembered that I had bought it from him lfor planting last year too!
4 - Bought a great load of organic apples including some fantastic cookers which have a gorgeous perfume. These have already been turned into compote with some sugar and a few prunes, to take to my friends tonight.
5 - The garden work progresses, all the earth is now in the planters, although we need more soil we can start planting from now.
6 - Red onion set and carrot and Cavolo nero (black cabbage) seeds bought at the farmers market.
Have a good evening, all! xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Have to pass this one on:

When I went out to kitchen before, Big Boy was back and feeding close to kitchen - demolished remaining half of fat ball on 'lawn'. That's another OS pleasure - his and mine!:DCAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hi all
Hope u all enjoyed the weekend.
Good to see Ampersand back :hello:
My 5 for today are;
1) For the first time in a very long time I have erradicated my ironing pile (It only took me all day) but well worth the sore shoulder!
2) Hearing my ds say that he was glad to be home (he'd spent the day at nanna's - hence how I managed to get my ironing done)
3) Having the house to myself & watching Eastenders omnibus with feet up & a cuppa.
4) Bagging up lots of clothes & shoes ready for the charity shop.
5) Seeing my dh's face as he returned from the match after watching our beloved Everton FC win the match & the anticipation that they will soon be playing at Wembley :T :footie: .
