Hope everyone is working through their troubles to find some blessings in their day.

Thank you jvs, much as I quite like the idea of having a daughter-in-law (she'll be the first and I hope only one) I'd be quite happy with just the grandchildren ;)

    Wednesday blessings...

    1. DS explaining all about the plans they've made so far. The wedding is to be at Gretna, how romantic  , and in true MS OS they're keeping it small and doing a lot themselves or roping family in to help with photographs etc

    2. Had 2 free moisturiser samples in the post, it says on the sachet 'Intensive anti-wrinkle moisturiser'...if they want to keep their promise they should have sent me a vat of the stuff!

    3. Started to delete everything from the pc in readiness for sale, I was going to get a techie to wipe it but it would have cost almost as much as I'm selling it for! So I read through the Techie forum and learned how to do it myself :o

    4. Phoned DM, told her about the wedding and said I'd drive her there. Now she wants to stay in Scotland for a week...I'm going to have to win the lottery to pay for all these hols

    5. Cleared out under the bed in the spare bedroom, now I have space to store lots of tins/packets so I made up an order for Approved Foods (hope I'm allowed to mention their name) and am getting some deep lidded polythene boxes to store it in. If any of the Big4 run short of anything I'm sure I can help them out :rotfl:

I'm feeling better. I set myself a goal this morning which was to aim to get ten things done every hour (and I kept it up for 4.5 hours which meant 45 things!) It got me moving and achieving and getting on top of work and domestic stuff and left me feeling very pleased with myself. I kept a running list on my whiteboard of what I was managing to do. Should try this more often :D

Anyway, from that list, and from other things that happened, my five for today:

    1. Getting 4 loads of washing done with 2 loads almost dried on the line despite the low temperatures outside and 2 loads on the radiators.

    2. Sorting out some old receipts into a tidy pile for accounts and unexpectedly finding a £5 note wrapped in one of them.

    3. Cleared out our recycling and bin for tomorrow's collections and realised that we are now producing so much less rubbish of all kinds - an indication of how little unnecessary stuff we are buying, how little processed food we are eating and how much we have decluttered.

    4. Getting an OU assignment back with 85% (which is not really OS or MS, but the pleasure was enormous!)

    5. Curled up under a duvet on the sofa this evening and watched a DVD with my children.

    Sweet dreams everyone.
  • 1. received a huge box of handmaking supplies today, which included
    2. My usual stuff for bath bomb making,
    3. a kit for making your own lipbalm,
    4. ingredients to TRY and make some buffy bars.
    5. I can't wait to play with them all!

    1. My OH telling me that I wasn't hopeless or useless because of my overspend on groceries last month and forgiving myself for this. We are both committed to 'shopping' from our freezer, pantry and garden for Feb.
    2. Preparing a meal plan for the month.
    3. Watering garden with grey water from washing.
    4. Yummy scalloped potato with garden salad for tea.
    5. My OH promising to give me massage later on tonight:D

Hope everyone is healthy and happy:j

  • Caterina - I do hope you continue to improve - take care.

I was so busy having pleasures yesterday, I didn't get time to post them but here they are.

    1. A lovely sunny day although there was still plenty of snow around.

    2. Going into town while a break in the snow gave me chance to get out.

    3. Meeting DD for coffee before shopping together and then deciding we 'deserved' lunch out.

    4. Paying for lunch from the £23 I have made on selling cards this week.

    5. DH applying to stay at work part time when he is due to retire in June. I'm so pleased about this as I just don't know what he would do at home all the time. We won't be much better off as we will put State Pension on hold but at least we won't be left gazing into the sunset.

I'm off now to work on today's pleasure while keeping warm and out of the snow.

    See you later.

    Bella.

    Mine are:
    1. Getting a text saying that the boss has decreed that we all stay at home today because of the snow - if only I'd known, I could have brought some work home with me last night....er, maybe not! :rotfl:
    2. Getting a huge pot of chilli going in my slow cooker - just right for this cold weather.
    3. Blanching and freezing lots of carrots that were starting to look a bit old.
    4. More yummy homemade hummus and a HM wholemeal roll for lunch, with crudites and fruit.
    5. Making more wholemeal rolls with the breadmaker - definitely getting more confident with it now, after the early disasters! Think I'll use the yoghurt maker as well later on - I am determined to make nice thick yoghurt rather than the runny, gloopy results that I've had so far!

    Enjoy your day, everyone! :j
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • Hope everyone is well / getting better, here are mine from the last couple of days:

    1) No work on Tuesday due to the snow.
    2) Having a baking day on Tuesday instead of work, found it very relaxing!
    3) Copying out some wonderful-sounding cupcake recipes from a library book
    4) Having a 'mini pizza for one' for my tea (toasted end of a HM tomato loaf, topped with bits from fridge - cheese, tomatos, mushrooms, spring onion, with tommy sauce... YUM!)
    5) Combining a hospital visit with hubby 'browsing' in nearby shops, so didn't have to pay for hospital parking. Plus, I was told that my ear problem should be relieved a bit on 16th Feb with a quick local op - yay! Good news indeed. :j
