Comments
-
1. My cough/cold has now almost cleared :j.
2. Carrot, butterbean and lentil soup made from leftovers for lunch.
3. Tuna fishcakes for evening meal - again made from leftovers:D.
4. The snow has now cleared here and I haven't fallen over even once;).
5. About to go to bed and trying to decide if the 'tickle' that I'm feeling deserves just one more hot toddy. cough, cough, cough - oh dear! I think, .......mmm, just to be on the safe side ............. hic!
Nitey nite all :wave:0 -
Hope everyone is keeping safe whether you're in the ice age or a heatwave...
Tuesday blessings...
1. DS told me this evening that he and his partner are getting married in October...she has 3 lovely children so I'm going to be three more grandmas. I'm not sure how many that will make as I gave up counting after the first half dozen!
2. Ive been invited out for a day next week by a friend, don't know where or when as she said it's a surprise. She always comes up with the most exciting ideas so I'm already looking forward to it
3. I've also been invited to Blackpool for a convention in March, would love to go so I just have to work out how to fit it in with all the other hols I've got in the first few months of the year
4. DS bought a take away curry for dinner, it was delicious and very MS as I didn't have to shop, prep, cook or pay for it. Better still I couldn't eat it all so I have some left for tomorrow's lunch
5. Just thinking how fortunate I am with DS asleep in the next room, DD and her lovely family 9 miles up the road, a healthy DM 70 miles down the road, three daft furpets one of which is gently snoring at my feet, and even if we are in a recession we don't have drought, flood, famine or war here. All I need is a nice cuppa and all is well in my little world0 -
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Cup of tea and cuddle from dh to wake up to.
2. HM vegetable soup for lunch.
3. DS in lamb ewes rushing to the gate to meet me when I went to feed them - all 50 of them!
4. The utterly delicious cake my DD had made for DGD2 first birthday tea.
5. Completing scarf for friends DD who begged for one after seeing her mums at Christmas.0 -
Today's:
1. Finding a long forgotten game of Chinese Chequers in a drawer during a clearout and realising it might be more fun to play it again than watching the current dismay TV programmes.
2. Discovering a Company Award plaque given to me for exceptional performance during my working days shoved away at the back of a cupboard, realising that life moves on and what was important then, on looking back, "was just another event". Realising that the bad events pass too in the same way and fade with time.
3. Nice treat of a bag of lemon sherberts.0 -
Hi all
Thank you for all your good wishes, I am slowly on the mend, not really supposed to be here typing but I shall be quick!
Reverbe, I am glad to see that life is smiling a bit more at you!
Broomstick, I hope you feel better soon!
Here are my five:
1 - Feeling a lot better and only needing painkillers every 7-8 hours (instead of every 4)
2 - No pain at all while walking so I went shopping in the market today in this beautiful crisp and sunny day.
3 - Buying work rucksack for DH, market stall man wanted £15, I said I'd think about it and he offered it at £10 (because it is a quiet day, he said). So I bought it, and very nice it is too!
4 - Another batch of HM baked beans is in the freezer, will see us for a few more breakfasts! DD's boyfriend specially requested a jar to take to his mum and dad!
5 - Just found a recipe for rock cakes here on the forum and I am off to bake them now!
Good to be back on board, won't be here as often for the time being but will at least come and read your posts!
Love to all
