Morning from a dry cold Hebridean island
My pleasures today are:
1. Getting 2 loads of washing out on the line (and hopefully dry)
2. Using up the leftover chicken from yesterday for tonight's dinner
3. Making a roast veg lasagne from the leftover veg fron yesterday for later in the week
4. Sitting down at lunchtime to a bowl of chicken and rice soup.
5. Staying at home today to try and get rid of this blessed cold and tonsilitis I've got. It'll be a NSD!!!0 -
hi ,
was a lurker but have now registered to ask about " 1. Making a start on my 101 things in 1001 days ".... sorry for being so nosey but it sounds very interesting!! would love to know more0 -
1. Snow - everything looking clean and pretty (our city doesn't normally look that clean or pretty
)
2. Walking 5 miles to work and laughing at the people in their sports cars who tried to drive and had to abandon their cars as they slide into the kerbsShouldn't laugh but can't help it - no one was injured
3. Getting to work and having a lovely cuppa.
4. Being glad that I have been building up my walking and my fitness in the last few months just in case I ever had to walk to or from work
5. HM bacon leek and tatty soup for lunch (brought with me)
6. Being told we would all leave early today because of the weather.
7. Being offered a lift at least half of the way home - I may have managed the walk to work but haven't built up my fitness enough to relish the thought of walking back home again in the same day!!
8. Thinking how my legs and butt will be well toned by the end of the week if the weather keeps up and I have to walk
9. Knowing the only thing I'm short of is bananas and so I don't really have to shop for anything till Friday - not even milk. Quite an achievement for me
10. Being glad there's already gas money on the prepay card that should last most of the week.
11. Petrol money should last a little longer as we've not used the car todayworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi chaps, there is blue sky above, snow beneath and a bitter wind here. My blessings so far are

2) Finally sorting out paperwork that had been accumulating under my diary
3) Putting central heating on after keeping warm all morning by doing the housework
4) Sitting on the sofa and eating three chocolate biscuits that I don't need0 -
1) Schools cancelled
2) Having a snowball fight and building a snowman with the boys.
3) Eating chickpea soup and hotdogs witht he boys and their friends
4) Baking chocolate chip cookies for the hungry masses
5) No dasing about to after school activities tonightGC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500

I've been away for a few days so haven't posted and I feel like I'm going down with some kind of bug so I may just try for an early night tonight, hence me posting early for a change.
Five pleasures from the last few days:
1. We've met up with loads of old friends over the weekend at another sports event (all our expenses were paid since we were helpers, including a good three-course meal on Saturday night) and I've made some new friends too.
2. I've heard so many lovely things said about my children - it has been a huge treat to hear so many positives from other people.
3. We were able to get home last night before the snow really began to fall heavily and I was able to drive really steadily at a low speed and minimise our fuel consumption knowing that we had food, drink and warm gear in the car should we hit problems en route.
4. Cancellation of today's home-ed group so I haven't yet had to go outside. It's lovely to be snuggled indoors knowing that we don't have to go out unless we choose - we have enough stocks of essentials in the house.
5. Catching up with family on the phone
.... oh and, of course, the snow - just beautiful
Hugs to everyone who needs them.0 -
1 School not closed ( work) so Head decided to take the whole school out to play in the snow for an hour.
2 Throwing snowballs at the boss!
3 knowing dinner was in the slow cooker
4 and HM garlic bread
5 Coming home to a warm house -ok not exactly MS or OS but boy does it make a difference !0 -
1. Butternut squash soup in sc.
2. Fresh bread out of BM.
3. Freshly made marmalade on HM Bread.
4. Making a snowman with the kids.
5. Nice warm fire with our own seasoned logs (and a bit of coal) to snuggle around tonight when it is snowing outside.
