Thank you all for your posts. Our blessings for this weekend are
1) Having a lie-in on Saturday, the only day the alarm is not set
2) Watching Once together last night. It's good film
3) Sunday lunch of brisket and veg with jacket spuds simmering away while we were at church
4) A cosy log fire this afternoon while the wind howled outside
5) More hm flapjack at tea time.
Hope you have a good week0 -
No more blessings today. Just wanted to remind everybody who lives in areas where snow is forecast, to bring into the house anything you store in there which you might need in snow, i.e. wellington boots, spades for snow shovelling, and any stored groceries.vegetables you might need etc. Last time this happened we awoke to thick snow and had to wade out to the garage in shoes to rummage around for what we needed.0

Sending lots of positive vibes to those who need them!
1. Making honey, lemon & ginger tea to try and get myself better
2. Preparing the veg for tonight's stew early and using the peelings to make veggie stock
3. Watching my little kitty try and chase snowflakes through the window
4. The colour the sky turned as it snowed
5. Cleaning my kitchen and turfing out junk from cupboards0 -
1. Defrosting my freezer (finally!)
2. Making hummus and smoked mackerel pate portions for lunches and putting them in my lovely clean defrosted freezer
3. Reading an interesting book nutrition (Loss wheat, lose weight)
4. Reading the sunday papers
5. Making healthy seed/nuts/oat bars
I am really loving looking after myself and learning more about healthy food and reading some great recipes. I feel sad when I hear people say they can't cook etc. They don't know what they are missing.0 -
Hi all
Got to be brief so my arm does not fall off - pls forgive if I haven't thanked all the posts, just still not 100% well. Anyway here are my five (scattered over the last few days):
1 - Pain getting better and I am able to be out and about
2 - DH and DD's BF made two beautiful raised beds to grow veg in the front garden
3 - A promotion for Thames water gave us an aerator for the kitchen tap, saves water and gives us a "rain" spray - fancy!
4 - My family have been really lovely helping me this last week that I was unwell
5 - My new GP referred me to a physio ON THE NHS! I can't believe, it was so nice and easy, my old GP would not refer anyone even when they were on a deathbed!
I am grateful all over the place for my life and my family and friends.
Will catch up soon with all other posts hopefully, and thank you to everybody for your kind good wishes.
Love to all xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Mine for today were:
- Seeing my grown-up children back home and around the kitchen table laughing and joking
- Making wholemeal syrup pudding as a sunday dessert treat
- Setting a fire in the woodburner early morning to beat the cold snap
- Being supportive when OH scraped the car tonight! Tough call as its blown the February budget on day one
- Using onions and herbs from the garden to add flavour to the chicken stock now on the hob

Sorry you had a bad day Reverbe. Hope today is better. Re the charity shop purchase. Often if you ask them to put something aside for you for 24 hours they're willing to do so.
Thank you. It means a lot to me when people are so nice.Today isn't much better. Flatmate has come in steaming drunk and is hurling abuse at me. There isnt another room I can go in as we share a studio flat. I think that he likes to take it out on me cos he has big debts and isn't doing so well with his company. I already feel like nothing cos I dont have a home, family or friends, don't have a job and haven't seen my other half since last May. I have been feeling ill prob due to being rundown and depressed and on top of that my mother is behaving like a stalker. I am a very strong person but it even gets to me at times.
I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank MSE for this thread and the lovely people who post here as an inspiration and focus and make me try to find something decent still out there.May the Goddess bless you all.
