Comments

  • 1- the joy of an empty wash basket after getting through the mountain before the week-end
2- delivery of organic veg box
3- using up a load of leftover veg and storecupboard bits - chucked in the SC with a tin of tomatoes and some chilli powder
4- actually checked cupboards and freezer BEFORE making shopping list for the week and realised I don't need any more baked beans - 18 tins is enough for now (keep bulk buying them in Costco and forgetting)
5- don't have anything else OS - I am still an OS apprentice and today was good going for me! :j

Poor you Reverbe, as my DS says some days you're the windscreen, others you're the fly, but pleased to hear you found so much good in your day. Dodgy :grouphug: to you and all who need them today...

    Friday blessings..

    1. The post lady brought me some Dior foundation today too, (they sent me 2 in fact, perhaps they think my need is greater than most :p ) - on the enclosed card it says 'Dior invites you to a one-hour make-up lesson from the experts where you will learn how to acheive a flawless Nude look. Please take this invitation to your nearest Dior counter'..they'll have a job with my old, weathered skin but it's free so they're welcome to try!

    2. Dear post lady also brought me two full packs of baby wipes to trial, I'm really doing well this week!

    3. DN(eighbour) has to go out tomorrow lunchtime so I'm looking after her 9 y/o sprog. We're going to MackieD's with vouchers, then coming home to make popcorn and watch a film, Pirates of the Caribbean, which she has on DVD. If we didn't have the vouchers, and went to the cinema, it would have cost me a fortune so it's (sort of) OS, loosely....ish...

    4. Turkey risotto for dinner made with brown rice from the freezer, a small sliced onion, a large grated carrot, a handful of chopped mushrooms, good grinding of black pepper and a shake of herbes de Provence, and a cup of chicken stock cooked in the wok, then added the leftover turkey from yesterdays drumstick. A dinner for about 70p each and it was yummy, and very filling :D

    5. Hearing that the weather is going to turn colder next week and knowing I don't have to go out of the house except for one short appt on Tuesday. I'm so grateful that I can afford to have the heating on a bit more now DS is staying with me for a short while and helping out, so hopefully I won't get any more chest infections this winter. I think 3 is more than enough!
  • Hi everyone!
I love reading this thread! I write my daily pleasures in a diary, but methinks it might be good to see them on here...
    Yesterday's were;
1 Getting through the week at work to FRIDAY :j

2 Taking out next week's housekeeping in cash from the post office rather than the cashpoint in local store which costs me and extra £1.50!!

3 Having a great night's sleep with my two springer spaniels on the bed

4 Enjoying an evening to myself while DD was on a sleepover

5 Homemade tomato and mozarella tart with salad rather than the normal friday takeaway.

See, I'm joining the grocery challenge and the NSD challenge as well!

Have a good day. I'm off to do the post-match catering for the rugby club. It doesn't get more pleasurable than that!!

Love to all who are going through difficult times.
    My os
    1. Setting the kitchen timer for 30 minutes and saying to my 6 yr old son that I would play whatever he wanted. We coloured in pictures and created a massive car park jam with his garage. I am conscious I don't play with him enough.
    2. Filling 2 charity bags with old coats that kids have outgrown. still like new.
    3. The smell of my my bun loaves cooking in the oven. The family and neighbours love this and I like making them as you don't weigh anything, the recipe is mugs full of sugar, fruit etc.
4.Chilling out on this forum while OH took kids to beach to run off their
    energy.
    5. Not using the cold weather as an excuse not to go for a run. (it was 50/50)
