Five OS Pleasures in your day today

  • Hi everyone

    My five for today/yesterday.

    1. Wandering along the estuary picking blackberries, picked 1 kg in an hour.

    2. Tai Chi with friends.

    3. Pina Coladas with OH on the deck after work.

    4. Watching the kahawai fishermen at the river mouth, word has quickly spread that their run has started, so on our normally deserted beach we had a line of six fishermen in the surf.

    5. Watching the fishermen release the juvenile fish back into the surf, great to see them conserving the resource.

    Blessings be
    Jennie

    Wednesday blessings...

    1. DS went up North about a job but decided not to take it, he's going to accept a temporary local transfer which means he'll be with me for a little while longer. I do enjoy his company, he's fun to have around (and the extra £'s help too, so a double bonus) :D

    2. The post lady brought my £80 electricity refund cheque, I've been paying to much for the past couple of years so asked for most of it back. It'll go in the bank tomorrow to help towards the flights I booked yesterday

    3. The post lady also brought me 4 free low watt light bulbs..I now have so many I'm thinking of giving one away free with every purchase at the next car-boot sale I do. I've certainly got enough to outlive me if their promise of thousands of light hours is right :rotfl:

    4. The post lady also brought me a free sample of moisturiser, not a skinny sachet but a tube. I do like my post lady!

    5. Went to a meeting this evening and was told by three people how well I look/sound...makes me feel so good when folk say things like that and I came home dancing on air
  • And my favourite one from yesterday:

Reading the instructions on a bottle of bubble bath "keep your head above water"

    Get well soon, Caterina!

My contribution for the day :

    1. My HM lentil soup for lunch was seriously yummy and kept me full and warm for ages.

    2. The aforementioned lentil soup was made with chicken stock from the roast chicken from Monday.

    3. The aforementioned chicken did its third meal for 3 (plus a couple of sandwiches) tonight, when the last of it went into chicken rissoles that even fussy mare of a DD liked. :)

    4. Now enjoying a nice glass of HM blackberry wine from last years bumper blackberry haul on the heath behind the house.

    5. Had a really nice compliment from one of my customers today - I had had a really stressy day this time last week and she said she couldn't believe how calm I had stayed through it (even though I was murderous inside LOL)

Caterina, hope you are soon feeling better.

    Yesterday:
    1. I made 10 portions of soup from assorted veg and bits & pieces in the bottom of the fridge. Normally I would have thrown these "bits" away as I am away from home for a few days. I would never have used them before reading MSE, I would have just thrown them out.

    2. Making a full list of what is in the freezer and realising that we will hopefully be able to last the month and only need to buy fresh fruit, veg and milk.

    3. DH bringing candles into the bathroom so that I would stay in the bath a bit longer and just relax.

    4. Enjoying the fact that I still love the little things that DH does for me even though we have been married for almost 28 years.

    5. Visiting DS today in his home and knowing that he is looking forward to coming away with us for the weekend to stay with our friends.
