    Hello All
    My 5 for today
    1. Losing half a pound at SW even though not really keeping to plan all week
    2. Visiting my mum and thinking how lucky I am to have her still here. She was very poorly for 3 months last October with brain injuries she suffered in a fall. Mum is now up and about even though she is a bit wobbly on her legs. Bless her heart. So to all those people who have elderly relatives in hospital - don't give up hope.
    3. Having HM bread and butter pudding for afters and DD being so thrilled I had made her and her hubbie one
    4. Having an afternoon nap with DH - going to sleep in the light and waking up in the dark - how lovely is that
    5. Hearing the rain outside but being all squidgy indoors

Hope everyone is happy this evening and I will remember you all in my prayers
    Jackie

    1. Lovely morning of sunshine here today - makes such a difference to how I feel at the start of the day. (Won't mention the rain this afternoon though :()

    2. Hearing my Tiggy-tiger meowing for food this afternoon - we've been worried about him for a while as he's been off his food. He ate the lot today.

    3. Making my first Lemon Drizzle Cake from a recipe posted on here - can't help bragging about it :o. OH reckons it was the best thing I've ever baked!

    4. Dgd (age 10) phoning to ask me if I have any grey wool to mend her school cardi! Heard her shout 'Love you, Narnie!' as her mum was putting the phone down afterwards - awwwwwwwww :o.

    5. OH went shopping today and brought back some liver from Asda - cost 84p. Half used for our evening meal - deliciously tender too and served with mash and sprouts with onion gravy. Other half has been frozen raw in a container for another meal. What brill vfm - he's learning!!!

I am snuggling in my jamas, socks and huge handknit cardie, cuddling a hottie and a mug of cocoa while I type these five for Tuesday:

    1. Having a long hot bath this morning and being very generous in the use of moisturiser afterwards so I was all soft and smooth and feeling luxurious at the start of the day. My skin still feels lovely. :D

    2. Getting an e-mail from a friend who was concerned about why she hadn't seen any posts from me recently in an online group we belong to. She was being really supportive.

    3. I'd forgotten that I'd ordered thyme and ginger in this weeks organic box so finding them was a surprise.

    4. Sorting out the details to claim back royalties from my writing. The letter gets sent in the morning. I have been told that I am owed money.:D

    5. Doing a shop for a few things at the supermarket on our way home tonight and finding out that the Quorn mince and butter that we needed were both on offer so we stocked up on them for the freezer.

Time for bed with a good book. Sleep well everyone.

my 5 things to be thankful for today -

    1. OH coming home from work with 17 confit duck legs as they cooked too many, so gave all the staff boxes to take home :D (already in the freezer ready to be added to many many meals ;) )

    2. having a viewing on the house - they seemed pretty keen, but who knows in today's climate... we shall see :)

    3. finding a house for sale which meets all our needs, and we love, and won't be eligible for sale (Auction) until april. it's about 500 yards from where we live at the moment, and just under HALF our estimated budget... so am very excited and hoping we have a buyer by then!

    4. going to the butchers and buying our weekly meat and cheese for just over £8 :)

    5. learning that OH might have some overtime coming up, paid at time and a half. yay! :)

    Tuesday blessings

    1. Saw my doc to ask about 'pulmonary rehabilitation' - he said I'm a suitable candidate and is recommending me. The local hospital only takes a few each year so I've got everything x'd that I'm one of them

    2. My friend who visited me in Nov phoned and persuaded me to take DGD (12 y/o) to visit her in Rhodes. I searched the net for a low cost flight and found and booked an amazingly low one for April. We're all so excited, especially DGD who's never been on a plane before :j

    3. Had Mr A grilled Cumberland sausages for tea, bought them with a pack of Lincolnshires for £3 the two. With creamed potato, mushrooms sauteed in oil and butter and a fried egg they were delicious

    4. Another lovely mild and sunny day and didn't have to turn on the lights until just after 5pm...if this keeps up I'll be mowing the grass by the weekend

    5. Went into the local charity shop and came out empty handed. Decided that having bought the flights I've spent enough for a month, and besides I have wardrobes full of clothes already. It was difficult though!
  • This week so far

    1) DS bringing his washing over, it's lovely to see him
    2) Hubby not working today because of the forecast, hopefully he will feel better after a day off, he has the lurgy & has struggled in every day, only to sent home because of the rain.
    3) The Head speking to me, after Friday's reprimand
    4) Remembering to boil some eggs for lunches
    5) Spending ages untangeling the ball of wool I'm knitting with, remembering how cute DGD, aged 1 looked tying it round herself & the dogs.

Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.

    Here's mine:

    1. Making HM minestrone soup yesterday at the same time as making dinner (quite an achievement for me not to get in a flap over that one ;))

    2. HM minestrone soup for lunch today - yum.

    3. HM summer fruit crumble (in a ramekin) for a snack at work, as I was trying to use up random frozen fruit from the freezer.

    4. Finding instructions on the internet of how to use OH's microwave egg poacher thingies he's had for years and I've never known how to use (he's forgotten ;)).

    5. Finding out that food shopping only twice a week actually seems to be working so far (often go 4 times a week to various shops ).
