    Monday blessings..

    1. Soaking up the sunshine and having all the doors/windows open for a few hours today

    2. Found a good, strong carboard box in the shed and put it on top of the spare bedroom wardrobe, filled with dry goods. DN(eighbour) says I've enough in for a seige - that's the idea!

    3. Cleaned through upstairs and tucked the carpet back under the gripper where the mogs had pulled it out trying to get into the bedrooms . Naughty mogs like to sleep on the beds if they can get away with it.

    4. Not OS but I joined Facebook to see what it's all about...as I only found 3 friends on there I decided to unjoin again and save my time

    5. Spent a lovely evening with friends laughing and putting the world to rights over lots of cuppas

    My five pleasures for today

    1. Beautiful sunshine this morning.

    2. Waiting for my friend to turn up mid-morning at the sports centre cafe where my children were having some coaching. Unfortunately, she didn't show up so I got on with some work-related reading that I loved. It was so peaceful and unexpected to have that gap in the day and I'm so excited about this work.

    3. Finding my missing sock pattern! The knitting had ground to a halt because I'd lost the instructions and now I've started it again.

    4. Catching up on four episodes of The Archers on iplayer.

    5. Tidying up our store cupboard and packing away all our latest surplus supplies.

    Sweet dreams.
  • Thanks again for the kind messages from people thinking about me. I haven't managed to do this for a couple of days because my body has been kind to me and has started the natural process. It makes seeing the positives a bit harder, but hopefully i'm back on track again for now. So yesterdays were,

    1. seeing the first green shoots from the sweet peas we potted up - i'm trying to take more of an interest in the gardening this year. DH is so good with it all i don't usually bother and just leave it to him.
    2. spending the day with my mum just sitting and chatting.
    3. Making lasagne for us for dinner. There should have been enough to eat and freeze for next time but i didn't get there quick enough and DH polished it off, which i will take as a compliment.
    4. DH commenting on how well i am doing as a house wife while i have been off sick. I've actually really enjoyed it. Wish i could give up work and just do this for a living.
    5. Watching the chickens having fun free ranging in the garden (and eating all the shoots coming up but i'll pretned that bit didn't happen!).

Dear Raggydoll, my thoughts are with you.

    My 5 os
    1. Watching Victorian Farm on catch up with my 6 yr old son (only watched it cos a couple of you had mentioned it.) Loved the programme and made me appreciate my creature comforts such as washing machine. My son loves eating tongue and we both got a shock when we saw a cow’s tongue being cooked. Stupid I know but I have never thought about it actually being an actual animal’s tongue.
    2. Making homemade shepherd’s pie, I even doubled up the meat, carrots and onion, cooked them and have a batch frozen for next time I make it.
    3. Using my Tesco Clubcard points to take my sons and MIL for a meal while husband working, did have to pay for drinks but nice treat.
    4. We have had a dead conifer in a pot outside ours for months, fed up waiting for hubby to sort it, so bought a new conifer and planted winter pansies around it. Much more welcoming to come into.
    5. Going to gym and doing really long workout, feel quite revived after Christmas excesses, just need to lose the weight now. Came back and even cleaned the car out.

This morning I was pondering the virtues of my handknit jumpers and decided the would provide some of my pleasure for today.

    1. My handknits save me money as the wool is sourced in sales, usually half price or less.

    2. My handknits keep me warm and snuggly and help to keep the heating down (well off actually).

    3. My hanknits provide many hours of relaxation and enjoyment whilst I am making them.

    4. Browsing round the market with DD.

    5. Finding material to make two skirts (for a total of £4.99) to go with my handknits.

    Bella.

    1. Being able to stay in all day just because I didn't fancy braving the cold outdoors.
    2. Made big pan of minestrone so tomorrow's lunch catered for as well.
    3. Panic when heating boiler pilot light failed to activate and I had visions of
having to call the engineer in. Then two hours later, big relief when it mysteriously
    fired again.
    4. Remembering a friend's birthday just in time.
    5. Settling for hot bath, early night and good book while OH freezes watching
    his local football team.
    5.
  • Here are mine for today

    1. Seeing a former colleague come in with her new baby and looking contented and well organised.
    2. Making a big roast dinner from a reduced-price chicken and knowing there are leftovers for later in the week.
    3. Making some potato peeling 'crisps' from a recipe on another thread and seeing DS disappearing upstairs to share them with his sister.

    Can't think of any more.

    Blessings, especially Raggy Doll x
