The daughter in law to be (they are not yet wed) has told people she wants another child even though they can just afford to keep a three year old. It would be a disaster if this happened and my hubby thinks so too. My SS would like to get out of rental property and buy and if she got her way it could not happen. Their son is not yet out of nappies and she just could not cope so I think it might be wise to inform the local social services and im only thinking of the present childs and not yet born childs interests.

    Why did you post this?
Why did you decide to rake up a thread that was 2 months old?
You're not asking any questions here, you're not asking for advice, you're just making statements.
What are you hoping to achieve?
Do you want a bunch of random strangers on a public forum to agree with your proposed actions?
Would that make you feel better?

Your problem bluelass is that you think you know a lot more than you probably do.
The medications alone can cause possible harm to a foetus but she doesn't think about this.

You don't know that she is not thinking about this. There is a massive gap between saying to your partner that you would love another child and actually going ahead with planning one.

I personally don't believe your SS is telling you all the things you claim. He would be a complete fool to do so. I think he tells you bits and pieces and you build a mountain out of it, most if made up of distorted information.

In any case, what good does all that information do you? Ultimately, the only duty you have is to ensure that the child is safe. Considering the fact that the child is under regular medical care and educational professionals, all who have the expertise to consider whether the child is at risk that you don't have, then you don't need to be concerned about this, let alone about a child which has not been even conceived yet.

Stop pretending to yourself that you actually care. You know that you don't. Stay away and worry about your own business. This has nothing to do with you whatsoever.
  • I think bluelass has the hots for her stepson - the younger version of her older model. The only thing in the way of her trading new for old is the inconvenient dil.

So why do you have a social worker? I would normally apologise for asking an intrusive personal question, but as you see fit to plaster your stepson's partner's personal situation all over the internet, I feel that you should share your situation as well.

Stepson, not social worker (I believe, someone please correct me if that's not the case).

Durrr.....that's what happens when I read and post before the first cup of coffee is in the system :-D
  • It's just occurred to me - OP keeps accusing her Step daughter in law of having all sort of health issues: Munchhausens, post-natal depression, schizophrenia, general instability...maybe it's OP who has munchhausens by proxy and this is all a cry for attention?

I aren't sure if you realise that with all the info you have put on here that this family would be identifiable to others, which would be awful for them but even worse for you when your friends realise what a piece of work you seem to be. I hope your DIL is not on this forum, how do you think she would feel reading this?

As the OP seems to have the subtlety of a brick it's a fairly safe bet that the step son, his partner and the OPs acquaintances are all fully aware of her views.

Imagine what a happy, family Christmas they are all going to be celebrating together next week.

SS in this context is step son

I suspect little of the info the OP gives is from the horse's mouth but from her husband and much distorted and embellished under the influence of the OP's own feelings about her DIL.
Realistically if you were her step son you wouldn't be discussing your partner's mental health with someone who has made it very clear in the past she dislikes and resents her.
