Can anyone help please we had sentinel through Halifax it was pre 2005. Halifax sent me through to sentinel. Has anyone had any success dealing with Halifax as that is who I believe I should deal with as it was pre 2005.

Does the pre-2005 complaint also have the same time cut off point of the 18th of March as well?
Also I have read on MSE Somewhere that it mentions that TSB are not on the list of credit card suppliers that issued card protection! But I have found a renewal notice for Sentinel Card Services for 1996 and believe it started back in 1993,
and on it it clearly says Introduced by: TSB TRUSTCARD??
Please give me your opinions on the above.

Pre 2005 complaints are not part of the scheme. Separate complaints have to be made and are not subject to the scheme's rules.

That's good to know thank you, so am I right in thinking that I should send my complaint letter to TSB Bank as the card that sold me the CCP Was TSB Trustcard?
I still had the same sentinel policy which they originally sold me until recently, but stopped the TSB Trustcard Visa back in 1998, would they still be responsible for paying compinsation up to 2005 as they were the ones who originally sold me it??
    Hope the above makes sense.

Yes, send any complaint to TSB if they sold it to you…

I'd send a complaint to both. If Sentinel (Affinion) sold it and TSB only got an introductory fee on then I think your claim is still with Sentinel.
It will only take a few minutes more to tailor the letters accordingly.....

The Sentinal refund scheme does not cover the pre-2005 period. However, if TSB receive a complaint which should be directed elsewhere I would expect them to reply with that information. Certainly no reason to send two complaints yet, even though the TSB card ceased in 1998. Only the post 2005 scheme ends on March 18th.

Well I am beyond frustrated. I have defo received a letter previously to this address, binned it like many did. Just called the number to try and get another one sent out and they cannot find me
In the system. Where does this leave me? They are sending out a form but say I need to provide "evidence" how am I supposed to do that if I don't know what it's about. Very frustrating. Really seems like they do I g everything to prevent people getting this
  • Received a cheque for £397 this week! I'll be trying to claim pre 2005 now. Thank you to Money Saving Expert for the template letters
  • I received a cheque for £452 a few days ago. Many thanks to Money Saving Experts for help and info. Will be trying for pre 2005 compensation from Barclays.
