Thanks for pointing me to the right direction.
Should the interest not be at the same rate as the credit card charge interest and done on a culmative basis. As 10 years would be a great deal higher than 8%.milly88
I follow Legal Allsorts, a very interesting site.0 -

Your advice paid off!!
I was paying out for a Senital Gold card which was 'advised' to me by the Co-Op Bank and its cover looked quite good so I signed up.
Then every 3yrs it was auto renewed.
Last year I received some paperwork from AI Scheme Services but just left it 'on the side' for some months.
Then I heard Martin on the radio sating if anyone receives such a form to fill it in and send it off as 'you never now if you'll get something'!!
In view of that I duly did so. Today I received a cheque from AI for £340 !!!
Thank you for the push.0 -
I need some help - I need to write to claim for many years of Sentinel protection that was on my Lloyds TSB account - but it was transferred to TSB when the bank was split up. Do I write to Lloyds or to TSB?0

Just received £150 plus interest for Sentinel product from 2005.

I received my cheque last week back to 2005.. When I contacted the administrators they told me i had paid for the product since 1993.
It appears I responded to a mail shot and was paying through GE Capital. Has anyone had any success in gaining a refund from this company and if so any tips on how to proceed/
Kind regards

I would appreciate any feedback re pre 2005 claims. I have been in touch with Sentinel and they have sent me a letter acknowledging my complaint, and advised that a cheque would be sent out which would cover all my fees but no interest as the payment is a gesture of goodwill only. I feel the amount is lower than expected and not sure where to take this re non inclusion of interest as it was paid in the post 2005 payment.0

Delighted to read of success stories for claiming compensation for credit card protection pre 2005.However, success stories seem to relate to claiming from banks.
I bought this protection years ago from Credit Card Sentinel after receiving an advert in post.
AI scheme will only compensate from 2005 and MSE template for claiming before 2005 seems only to cover banks/building societies.
Would be grateful for any advice? This is the first time I have used the forum.0 -
I sent both pre and post-2005 claims in on the basis of MSE advice. The pre-2005 claim seemed to go through smoothly. But the post-2005 claim is much smaller than expected, it looks like it only covers two years (and we still had the product until claiming a few weeks ago). I found information on the FCA website saying that packaged accounts are not included (currently we have a Lloyds packaged account). This doesn't seem to be quite fair since the same mis-selling applies. I'm wondering if I should just leave it at this point and cash the cheque or whether any further developments are likely. And is it really the case that packaged accounts are excluded anyway? I'm a bit confused because the pre-2005 was through the Coop Bank and I think that was a packaged account too.
Thanks for any advice!0 -

If you feel your packaged account was mis-sold then you should raise a separate complaint.
In the meantime, cash your Sentinal cheque as you won't be awarded any more..0
