It's MY DOORSTEP

You knocked at MY door when I was in the middle of making the tea so just DONT tell me that I am being 'a little rude' when I decline your leaflet advertising kitchens and bathrooms - and yes I can read , I did see what the leaflet was about so I said we're fine thanks but got told I was being rude .
So to the man in My street who knocked on my door and told me I was being a little rude because I didn't want the bother of binning his leaflet I wish I had been much more than a little rude and just told you to !!!!!! off the minute you knocked on my door :mad:

And breathe before I burn the tea

No I was just having a vent :embarasse:embarasse:embarasse
I was a tad annoyed at being called rude by some bloke

I find with any sort of home improvement cold caller the magic phrase "It's rented" gets rid of them in seconds. I do in fact own my home but somehow I don't feel any guilt about lying to these people.
  • I always find that being rude to people I am trying to sell things to gets them to buy from me, and recommend me to their friends. :)
  • I know it can be annoying but at the end of the day they're out there trying to make a living, I used to do the same on the phone and my hubby does the doors. I know they can be a pain but they're on comission.
I'm not saying you were but a lot of people can be rude and he might've just had a bad day.
Sorry you've had a bad experience but just remeber he's trying to make money :)

Hmmm - at the end of the day they seem to assume that the 'punters' on the other side of the door/phone are too thick to decide whether/when they want to buy something, and are too thick to realise they can ask/phone round for quotes if/when they marshall enough brain cells to actually do something about it.

Seems to me like arrogance and me-me-me. Of course they will occasionally hit on someone who is more vulnerable/suggestible than most, then it's 'trebles all round innit'.

Anyway, that's my view - admittedly based on having to sort out problems for a relative, obviously your mileage varies as they say.

    Eh!?

Little bit far fetched to consider some bloke selling a kitchen is as low life as a drug pusher, surely?

Both just trying to make a living though, but yes a bit far fetched as I've never had a drug dealer knock on my door when I'm trying to cook my tea.
