Tbh I rarely buy fruit and veg is hit and miss
. I don't like it as veg beside meat on a plate but however I do buy veg for certain veggie dishes. I did enjoy this programme as they did show veg being cooked in ways I would enjoy. I also make at least one veggie soup a week to help me dying of scurvy lol
Veg is also not very popular where I work. I'm educating myself and also having to educate the servers in how veg can taste good when cooked differently from what they are used to. Sundays soup was curried parsnip and I was greeted with cries of " don't like parsnip" yet they all had a bowl, decided it was scrummy and sold it to our customers
Me and OH eat such a lot of veg (we are both vegetarian) but I guess a lot of people don't. We all know though that we should be eating fruit and veg and people with children should be trying to feed them healthily. There are so many meals you can make with veg (I find them far more versatile than meat) and most people like some veg. We are lucky in that we like just about all veg
We don't eat as much fruit as we should, mainly because we don't like many fruits but do try and eat a good amount of the ones we do like and maybe make smoothies or a crumble or pie with fruits we are not so keen on. Things like apricots and plums we are not keen on raw but cooked quite like themThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -

If you eat lots of different veg, especially as many different colours as you can I wouldn't worry about eating more fruit. Fruit is high in sugars, and whilst they are naturally occuring, they are still sugars and your body does not need them. I eat some fruit because I like them (mainly lower sugared varieties such as berries), mainly for convenient snacks, but I get all the goodness and vitamins I need from lots of well sourced vegetables.:)0 -
same here - I pad my breakfast cereal out with berries but don't eat any other fruits very often. I do eat a lot of veg and salads though and aim for rainbow coloured plates where I can.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

The first series recently aired here in Oz and Ive managed to watch the second series via Iplayer. I loved the show but agree with most of what has already been said here - it wasnt rocket science.
I loved the way the children were so open to trying new things, it made a refreshing chance from what I have experienced first-hand.
Im keen to try out a few of the recipes featured on the show but like others, i dont use FB.
Does anyone know if they will be making another series?
Thanks

Did they ever say what the woman in the last episode did for a living? Being a fireman can't be the best rewarded job of all time ever (socially useful things seldom are) and like others, I honestly couldn't see how they managed to spend £330/week on food.
In context, that's like spending all of a £25k wage after tax on food.
They had an ok house, seemed like a nice lifestyle, so what gives? There's probably some hidden gimmick that would explain it all away...0 -

I don't know if I've said this before but no way do they spend what they say on food.
Hence why there trolley guesses are always so far out. If they really did buy that everytime they would be close in their guess.0 -
I have yet to meet any woman who didn't have a rough idea as to how much she had spent in the supermarket.I knew to within a pound or so when my family were at home and I had a larger shop to do.0

I remember the days of going around the supermarket, totting up the bill in my head to make sure I had enough money and didn't have the embarrassment of having to put stuff back.
But, from my days of working on the tills, there do seem to be loads of people who just go around the store, merrily chucking stuff in the trolley, then being shocked at how much it's come to.0
