yup, that's something else I don't get - why the need / want for more bread with bread, i can just about understand it with pasta but even thats a ton of heavy carbs (which I love, I just don't personally need more with it). Must admit I do prefer dough balls to garlic bread though if I had to choose.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I had doughballs once. In 1998 there was a group at work who arranged to go out for a meal at an Italian and I went. They took the order, then a basket of "things" was put on the table while we were waiting for the food to arrive. It was doughballs. They were nice, but I've never felt an urge to buy any.
Surely they're just "lumps of dough mixed with garlic/garlic butter"? So you could simply buy some ready made dough, or a packet mix, and mix them up yourself, roll into balls and toss into the oven .... if you really need them.
Personally, the calories in one pizza's a whole day's amount, so adding doughballs would just seem "piggy for the sake of it", so not something one'd buy without seriously questioning whether you REALLY needed/wanted them at all.0 -
Thanks - I'll get it on iPlayer then. Just wanted a wee look at it0

Doughballs were an old fashioned filler-upper, to fill up hungry people who could not afford a lot of meat.0

My DH's auntie who lived in the North of England had five sons and the rule on Sundays was that yorkies and gravy were served first and whoever ate the most yorkies could have more meat. Her second oldest once ate nearly a dozen!!!!!"This site is addictive!"

Those kids must have been coached to be so agreeable.
I have nearly 50 nieces/nephews and no way do they like what their siblings like, if Simon goes for carrots, Samantha won't and so on.
Will have a look on catch-up, VfM.0 -
