Faerie - I once managed to get my driving licence sent to the wrong house (don't ask!). As JM has said, it's their responsibility to deliver to the address they have. In this case, that would mean the nice neighbours. If they've left it with someone else that's their problem. The fact that you don't live there is basically beside the point.

Ok... confession time.

I went out of my way this morning to engineer a situation where I could speak to FOH. I then spoke to him for an hour. I haven't been able to think about anything else but contacting him for the past week.

Am now picturing gitdog with an old fashioned fountain pen... writing his name in beautiful calligraphy

It went well..... kind of. Far too well. Oh this is such a mess. Really wish there was something I could do to stop this going to court, but I don't think there is. Even though I haven't heard from the police for over 5 weeks now and am basically hoping they've forgotten.

Would it be an idea to ring Policebaby and discuss it with him? At least you'll know the position.

I don’t feel able to – although I can see that rationally that might be a good idea. I’m too awed by authority! I’m scared that I’m going to get in trouble with the police, that they’ll be angry with me, that they might charge me with wasting police time. I’m also aware that as this is classed as a domestic incident it will be prosecuted regardless of whether I support the prosecution or not.

I tried to have the conversation with PB last time I spoke to him (5 weeks ago) but I just felt talked around. I don’t think I can face trying to bring it up again. Which means I’m left feeling incredibly guilty and torn about how things have got to this stage... I’ve forgotten what it’s like to sleep!
