Marli, thank you for your point of view and welcome to the thread. Are you one of our hummingbirds? Many people on this thread are very vulnerable and sometimes when you feel that way an explanation comes out as a splat more than linear sentences and things get confused and accusations are made when if people were able to think calmly they wouldn't do that. I am a great one for that myself! I do understand how on some threads outside of this one that people are working with the facts that they are given, there is no reason for the whole of MSE to act as we do here but I would ask that if you know someone has mental health issues that they are given a little more understanding because things can get very confused for those going through crisis and they are very easily hurt. There are always reasons why people do what they do, even if they are not clear at the time. I know that Faerie is a very kind person and would never say anything to intentionally hurt anyone.

I am sorry that you also felt hurt and accused, that is never a nice feeling and I recognise by reading the other thread that people were trying to help, including you. I understand why you felt the need to speak out. You are always welcome to post here if you ever wish to, as is anyone on MSE. Also, thank you for the giggle of saying 'The mean forum', I am sure you are all squishable bunnies really!

Faerie, have a hug. I am sorry that you felt so hurt by your other thread, the last thing you need is more hurt in your life. This thread is unique in that we are very aware of mental illness and are very gentle with each other. Outside of this thread there is no reason for others to act the same way. You will always meet different people with different ways of expressing themselves, sometimes people can be very blunt but that doesn't mean that they are cruel. MSE is a big hotchpotch of people, we will not all react in the same way to things and nor should we, it would all become very boring if we were all alike in how we express ourselves.

Also, do keep in mind that I don't believe that the other thread were talking to you as they were because you have mental health problems, they were speaking to you as they would in the same way that they would talk to anyone who had posted the same thing. We are all individuals, we will all respond different ways. Please don't feel that your mental health was being attacked, I am sure no one meant to do that anymore than you meant to attack your neighbours mental health with the way you described him.

Not everyone is going to be extra gentle with people who are mentally ill for a variety of reasons. Some people just don't understand it and you know, although I think people with mental health problems should always be treated kindly I am glad that many people don't fully understand because that would mean that they have experienced what we have and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Instead of looking at the negative turn it around, a lot of people have tried to help and we really want this resolved for you, we want to make things better. Focus on that rather than what feels negative, you are not standing alone.

  • Hello surveyqueen! How nice of you de-hover! See Faerie, people care even to the point of posting!

Big hugs, Melly. Lovely to see you, the news is awful right now and I am avoiding it too.

Big hugs for you too, Torry. I am sorry that things are hard right now, we are all here for you anytime.

Hello happilymarried! How sweet of you to come out of hovering, it is lovely to meet you!

Tea, huge hugs. I understand. Please do remember that you were very scared at the time when FOH was trying hard to contact you but at the same time as I have said to you before love just doesn't switch off and we don't just forget about a person we spent so long with. Just keep yourself safe.

Hahaha! Thank you, Pyxis! I try! (I am very trying, ask WaSp!)

thank you waves.. I would never want to hurt anyone. I'm so sorry if I came across like that.I got flooded with the memories of the extent of the harassment .. and stalking and it's shown me, that I need to de3al with that as well as the rest of the trauma . The mother trauma memories are so alive since I visited in november, and I really need to deal with this life threatening bowel trauma.. I am really overloaded with stacked up multiple traumas. I'd buried them as I had the life threatening bowel trauma so soon after I left that flat. It's crazy how the mind can turn back on trauma memories .
It's been over 5 years since my mental health got cut and the stalking happened with no support, so I think it's come up for a reason for me to add it to the pile of big things to deal with.
I am really vulnerable and I'm not doing well on my own with a plate full of problems and no mental health help yet. I'm struggling with every aspect of my life and it's a struggle just to get through each day. My BPD is terrible, and my PTSD is a raging fire that is obliterating any chink of light or hope. I just hope I can hang on and not get committed until I get mental health help. Thanks to all of you for being so understanding.. you are all stars x

  • Crossing everything for you, Melly. Floating support workers can be very effective so hopefully they will be able to get things moving in the right direction. If nothing else they should be able to advocate for you and give you a break from the endless battles and phone calls.

I wish I could say things as well as you do, WaS. I sit there knowing what I want to say but not getting round to it in case I make things worse. You always seem to get it spot on. ETA -and Pyxis as well. Can I be both of you?

(Although in the other bits of the forum I do tend rather towards the blunter end of the spectrum, on the basis that sometimes the general public just need their heads banging together. Tolerance not always a strong point.)

And in take your Gitdog to work day, Gitdog stayed in the car with introductory visits at break time. Unfortunately because I was so worried about him getting too hot in the car I left all the windows partly open. Gitdog now has hyperthermia and isn't talking to me.

I'm also just about to go back over the thread - I'm sure I've seen some wallpaper somewhere.....
