  • Hahahaha love it, Pyxis!

It is my wonderful ability to waffle on for ages, elsien! Everyone stops feeling bad because they just fall asleep halfway through! Also, that's a good point about posting outside of this thread. Here it is different because we are all very non-judgemental, gentle and aware of mental health. Outside of this thread I am sure lots of posters on here might be blunter, if I posted on other threads I probably would be because a lot of the time I would be looking at the title of the forum and reading the facts in the post rather than the emotions behind it and replying to those. Here we are far more aware of emotional difficulties so we tend to register those as being as important as the post content. It is why this thread is so lovely and also serves to remind us why we might get and give different responses elsewhere. For example, how we post here would never work in Discussion Time and I am sure no one is too bothered about emotional well-being when they are trying to figure out why their car won't start in the motoring forum!

Hahahaha! Poor Gitdog is suffering, I tell you! He needs lots of treats and a soft lap to make up for it!

oh phew melly x you're right waves.. I think I need to learn not to ask for advice outside of these squishy walls :) I'm good at posting freebies but that's about the extent of my interpersonal skills at the mo! I am calming down a bit now. I really am sorry if I upset anyone. I am avoiding the news today as it's the scary budget man. My friend bought me a really cool light for my birthday.. it's called philips living colours, you can scroll through the rainbow colours or lock it on one. I've just put it on violet/purple and it's shining into my fireplace area and it is really calming.:) it's this : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-LivingColors-Changing-Integrated-Control/dp/B008B4DCCU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1458154559&sr=8-3&keywords=philips+livingcolors+mini

  • Aw, big hugs Faerie. I am glad that you are feeling a little better. Remember you have all of us standing shoulder to shoulder with you, you are never alone. What a wonderful light! I quite want one of those for myself!

Thanks Waves, I do feel safe and accepted here. The light is awesome for distraction/mindfulness. I'm such a visual person I respond well to colour.. it was such a great present for my birthday. It's not like a normal lamp, it progects the colour onto a wall. Things have blown over with the friend who missed my birthday. I wrote him a long email and I think we both realise that we both have our plates full. . I just printed out free tickets for a movie on sun about an ex soldier with PTSD. I'm going to take my friend I think.

I have a social worker coming tomorrow to reevaluate my care package. She's cancelled twice so It's been stressful. I'm hoping to get an extra 15 monsw twice a week so my carer can wash my hair in the sink, as I can't shower any more. It's too painful and there's no hot water. I worry because sometimes they try to cut carew and you really have to fight for it. I'm not looking forward to it really.

Can I ask, do any of you do competitions and apply for freebies? I won a few things last year but I've not won anything yet this year.. I'm ever hopeful for winning a holiday x
