    Voluntary might be a plan.
You need less time to think one of the reasons they don't like signing off people with depression is it really impacts on your self worth (hello hello case in point here) not working, also it gets harder to mix with new people

    What we have learnt
No ake from csj is needed for my little old man. He hasn't had any for 3 days and now can't jump and just needs to be sat on my lap with me rubbing his knees

    (((((Calley)))))

I have no practical advice but I hope you manage to get a decent night's sleep soon and that it makes everything a little less meh. Being tired always makes everything seem so much harder so it's no wonder you're feeling down if you can't sleep.
  • I echo what Izzy (you don't mind being called that do you? Apologies if you do!) says. Sleep absolutely affects your state of mind. I know personally when I can't sleep, it can really affect how I feel the next day. Hope you can manage to get a better nights sleep soon. (((((Calley)))))

Do you absolutely need to work right now - financially that is? If you can get by with your lodger income, maybe consider volunteering? That way you can be a lot more flexible about hours etc. Enough to get you out of the house and stop the loneliness, but not so much that it becomes something to worry about. You could maybe do one morning/afternoon a week for a while just to get you back into the swing of things.

I know when I've been out of work (or even just off work for more than a few days) I get quite anxious about having to go back. Generally once I'm there it's never anywhere near as bad as I'm expecting. Maybe easing back into a routine with some voluntary work could help.

Obviously this might not be practical or helpful for any number of reasons, in which case ignore me :)

I can just about manage barring any disasters.

I have always been a quiet shy anxious person. In the last 4 years things have got worst. very bad actually. the last time this happened was nearly 10yrs ago. but then I had the support of a non disabled husband. I started work after moving here.

I am not a great people person and find making and keeping friends hard. one of my best friends died on my 16th birthday. And another nearly died in a car crash when we were 21. we lost contact as she with drew after her accident as she was confined to a wheel chair.

And with all that has happened in the last 4 years being messed around and hurt. i am not keen to open myself up to that again. So keep myself to myself.

    yours

  • Calley - I really think a chat with your doctor could be helpful . Some form of counselling for both anxiety and sorting out how to plan your future re working etc may be helpful . I think you have mentioned trying to find an alternative way of making a living ? There could be advice available to help you plan a way forward .

No need to apologise, the only 'name' thing that bothers me is when people don't read emails correctly and address me by my surname or, even more annoyingly, something which is more obviously a first name but a couple of letters different from my surname.

I'm using a hire car for work this week. Am driving it home from the office this evening then will be out and about for the next few days, then picking up my car again from the office on Friday.

None of which should be a big deal, but am freaking out! Last time I had a hire car I could barely drive the thing. Someone had to show me how to start it and I had to google how to turn the lights on :rotfl:. I have everything crossed that this one is easier to operate.

Roll on hometime so I can just get going. I'm sure the anticipation of these things makes it far worse.
  • Tea Remember you managed with the last car . You will this time .
Meant to mention about door handles . I don't know the shape but I bought a tall white wooden cupboard with glass doors and small metal knobs which were horrible .I found little faceted glass replacements with chrome mounts which match a girlie room well . I later found hb selling larger versions which are similar to the ones I bought . They do a medium or large set and are cheap as chips . I have a number of sets stashed for when I resume my paint the wooden furniture project .
Pyxis Thanks for the Jar of hearts link . I know someone who will welcome that right now . Silversmithing I'd forgotten that . I remember gazing at your spoon with awe long before starting to post here .
Hi to everyone . I hope LW and WW are ok today .
