I am watching the secret life of the zoo. And watching a mischievous 2 year old baby elephant torment the life out of its elders. Quite amusing.
I do hope you remembered to put gitdog's blindfold on first. Otherwise he will learn from the programme, you do know that! :eek:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I can't go into details for reasons of privacy but yesterday NHS 111 provided the most brilliant service for littlewing. At a time that all you read in the press is how they fail at everything, I can only say that I am very grateful for proper medical advice and good old-fashioned common sense.
My throat is still sore and a maddening tickly cough has interrupted my sleep all night so I am looking forward to spending the best part of the day in bed as I will have to be back at work tomorrow. It does unfortunately mean that I will miss the funeral but I do not feel well enough.
Yesterday was stressful as a parent, and I feel still very tightly wound up. But it wasn't life events like illness that made it so hard to deal with. It was the rigid behaviour of my extended family. Too long a story to go into now, but this thread is a blessing as I know you will understand.
An unexpected blessing too were the parents of littlewing's friends. I am so grateful to them. I know this all sounds dramatic and it was nothing life-threatening, and probably for 'normal' families wouldn't even be note-worthy. But I grew up feeling let down by the adults in my life and it is amazing seeing littlewing grow up with faith in other people.
This probably makes no sense to anyone so just ignore me.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
WW - glad to hear that you and LW are both ok, and that you've got some good friends and support around you. It makes perfect sense that you'd be pleased LW has good role models and people she can trust in her lifeTorry_Quine wrote: »Tea how are you today?
Not too bad, thank you xx. Did cry in poundland* but otherwise the day went well.

Tea,
Have a massive hug. I don't do the crying bit but I see stuff and think either my ex or husband would like it.
But then realise I have no one to buy for. Which is sad for me. As I love to buy little gifts for people.

Lovely photo Calley! You do look just as I imagined you
Glad you and LW are OK WW, it's lovely to have people around you who you can count on.
I had a very eat-y weekend and feel dreadful for it. Had to have a couple of indigestion tablets before bed! Woke up still feeling bad so I got up early and did (most of) 'The 30 Day Shred' which I bought about 6 months ago and never took out of the packaging!Feeling a bit better for having a jump about this morning although starting the day all hot and bothered isn't ideal!
My bedroom is so very nearly finished now! M&S have had 20% off this weekend so we bought several bits in store and online, just waiting for my cushions to arrive now! We bought letter hooks and after playing around for ages, and initially picking up S, T, H, I and giggling at the rude word we could make with them and wondering if we could get away with it we decided to class it up and went for 'Merde'! :rotfl: It looks fab!We also got some fun pineapple knobs for the wardrobe, they make me smile every time I see them!
Will post pics once it's all done.
It's Baby Bird's 2nd birthday on Wednesday and I don't know how I feel about it... it's lovely that he's growing into a fun little boy, but I miss my little baby!!!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

((((((((Whitewing))))))))))) It makes perfect sense! Am glad you got good advice and support from friends. That makes such a difference!
((((((((Tealover)))))))))) Don't worry about your jammy dodger weep. You're grieving. Things like that hit you from time to time.
For various reasons, I was listening to and reading the lyrics of "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri yesterday. I don't usually like ballads, by far preferring upbeat tempos, and very rarely hear the lyrics as my brain seems to concentrate on the music. However, this song is a big favourite, both due to the beautiful melody line, harmonies and chord progressions, and to the lyrics.
I listened and read and thought of you, Tea! :A
It is a sung by a powerful, confident woman, who is well aware of the bu11sh1t she has been given by an ex, and is in no mood to tolerate him now wanting her back. She gives him short shrift.

Goodness Birdie, 2?! How is that possible!? We have all been chatting on these threads for a really long time!
Hope you all have a lovely day. Your bedroom sounds so lovely - especially the pineapples! The room I'm moving into has the airing cupboard in and the doors don't currently have any handles - am on the lookout for exciting knobs :rotfl:.
Thank you Pyxis xx.0 -
Morning All,
Calley - I love your wedding photo. For some reason I imagined you with dark, curly hair but, other than that, you're quite similar to what I expected.
My poor brain's far too hungover and hurty to attempt to reply to everything I've just caught up on from the weekend but I hope everyone's having a good Monday so far xx0 -

hugs and squishes and handshakes to all who need them.
a quick call out to melly and messed up. hope both are ok just busy.
I am feeling meh at the moment. another bad night sleep wise and really just can't be arsed. had a binge late afternoon, no idea why as I cooked lunch. got up today fed phoebe and put some washing up away and come back to bed. no idea why. bored of life and see no point in bothering with anything. Not go to the point of no thinking no one gives a monkey.
I am lonely, and scared to go back to work. just not sure what to do really. I need to go back to work for the money. but no interest or get up go. think it got up and went. everything just seems a struggle.
enough whinging and being needy :rotfl:
Every one take care.
