Question for bounts people - what are you using to link steps to the app? I've got it linked to the mapmyfitness app which is fine if I'm going for a walk, but doesn't work over a whole day.0

Mine is linked to the moves app as that seems to be the only android step counter for the moment. It's ok but does tend to drop steps every so often which is maddening. Looking forward to them adding google fitness.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

I might be really dense (ha!) but I can't get my head around how my phone would count steps? I've got a realty basic pedometer at the moment (on my waistband), and I'm thinking about a fitbit charge (the colour I want is never in stock lol). I can kind of understand how a wristband could count, but how could a phone?? Do I have to wear it?? Surely it can't be that accurate if it's just in my bag?
But I really want those extra bounts points - have hardly got any!
*off to check fitbit stock levels again*0 -
Most phones have sensors which calculate vibrations, so walking will cause a particular motion, similar to the way a pedometer works. They can also use GPS which is how mapmyfitness works but obviously that doesn't work indoors. I like the idea of a fitbit as it would be more accurate but I can't justify £100 just for a £5 voucher :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

I'm using the Moves app with bount too and couldn't quite work out how it can count steps either. I don't think it's overly accurate, yesterday it counted my walk to the station/work as 2,200 steps and today it counted exactly the same walk as 1,500, but at least it makes me aware of the need to move more and therefore encourages me to go out for a walk at lunch time.0

I have that problem with it too Izadora - yesterday it only calculated 8 minutes of my 45 minute dog walk and 2 minutes of my 15 minute walk to the station which is annoying. And sometimes it changes my walk to Moving off for an odd reason and I lose the steps. Hope they get a better step counter soon. I sometimes feel it gets a bit laggy approaching the target steps, which makes me wonder if it's trying to stop people getting the points. :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Spent ages last night trying to work out how to get bounts to check in at the gym - was raging at the thought of losing those points! Which is v silly considering how many you need to actually claim anything :rotfl:.0

Right - have added Moves. It's giving me error messages already so will see how it goes! Not managing even 7000 steps very often at the moment so might be a moot point anyway0

I don't think my work gym counts for check in points.
Should have mentioned earlier, my bmi has moved back into the overweight category from the obese one. I got there in December but then I gained Christmas weight and realised my scales were almost half a stone out, so now I'm back to where I thought I was 2 months ago :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Changing category is great - good motivation to carry on
I know some people say bmi is arbitrary but it's a pretty good starting point for most people.
Am already annoyed with Moves as it doesn't record anything less than 30 seconds - what is the point of me walking to the kitchen and back 10 times a day if it doesn't record it?? :rotfl:
ETA: I only get the gym points on premium. Got an automatic upgrade to premium for 2 weeks when I signed up, but only 5 days of that left now.0
