Might have overstepped by telling people I peed on the floor when I don't even know you :o but hey, this is me! Trying to smile about something!

It's alright, I'm beginning to think there's no such thing as TMI here :D
At least you're trying to smile about it, I think I'd still be seething too much to come close to seeing the funny side.

I guess it depends on how much work you've got to catch up on. I'd be inclined to leave as soon as I could and spend an extra 20 mins travelling than wait around so that I had a shorter commute but still got home later.

    Hallo, Charliewocka!

I'm not my usual self at the mo, 'cos I'm up to my ears in elephants! We saw loads on the Safari yesterday, including babies and one tiny weeny one!

Not had a chance to do the photos yet. It's all go!

We've changed hotels and are now up in the mountains near Kandy.
On the way we visited a Spice Garden and saw various trees that spices come from. Then they gave us a face massage and a neck massage!
We had lunch in an open air restaurant, and a huge land monitor wandered in.
    And wandered out again.
The locals didn't bat an eyelid, but all us stupid Brits were going sweeeee! And leaping out of our chairs to go and stare at it!:D

    Must get those photos done.

    Night night. (It's 11pm)

    Here is the repost......

    ........:starmod:......................................................................:starmod:.....................
Here is the suggested THREAD ETIQUETTE. By following this etiquette, all posters, whether new or existing, will feel safe, unpressured and respected..

!!!But first...............please be assured..................................................................******It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. (See below about penguins). In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.******

    - This is a thread for support. We have discovered some good friends on here, but we promise always to welcome and include new people, and not to be cliquey.

    - People may make suggestions to help each other, and might even ask if the suggestions were helpful or have been carried out, but we'll really try not to nag each other or put too much pressure on.

    - The normal board rules about sexism, racism, homophobia etc. apply, but if we are careful we should be able to discuss almost anything without breaching board rules - so far we have discussed subjects ranging from child abuse to incontinence!

-If someone thinks that too much pressure is being applied, they can post the trigger word PENGUIN and flag up the fact that they believe there's a potential for someone feeling too nagged to do something. ANYONE could post PENGUIN if they felt there was a danger that suggestions were being enforced too much.

Similarly, if they want to discuss something that might be a trigger for some people, then posting PENGUIN would be a warning that what follows in the whiteout might be a trigger.

    - So, if you think something might be a PENGUIN, please post something like the green bit which follows.

"Possible penguin about.........(type of trigger)" The trigger might be:- child abuse, marital abuse/violence, paranoia, stalkers, death, etc.

Then, when you post, repost the word PENGUIN above the discussion. Then post the penguiny bit in white! And the phrase END OF PENGUIN when you have finished.

It will look like this. You will be able to see the white text if you highlight it or if you quote it, (so please don't 'quote' a post containing a penguin onto the thread!)
    (Harmless example follows here):-
    PENGUIN

This is a penguin. A nasty, crotch biting penguin (CBP).
It isn't really! So you can look
    . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozGTv0hxhpc[/url]

    END OF PENGUIN

(NB on a tenth-page repost of the etiquette, you can see these penguiny words because they are white against the green 'quote' background. On a normal post, they will be white against white, and so won't be seen on the thread.)

IMPORTANT: It has been ascertained that some posters to this thread have found that there are certain subjects which act as triggers, precipitating a worsening of their condition.
To protect these posters, you are respectfully requested NOT to discuss these subjects on this thread:-

Religion. (Please note: it is recognised that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and we respect those beliefs. It is only because of the fact that religion does act as a trigger for some posters, that we exclude it from discussion.)
N.B. Please don't even mention the name of the religion.

The afterlife. The reason for this is explained in this thread by one poster, and there will be others for whom this is a trigger.

We ask and thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

    .........:starmod:.....................................................................:starmod:................

!!!So, to reiterate..............******It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.******

    - More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.

    ...............Thread Motto...............

Maybe things have now calmed down enough for us to have an adult conversation, sort out his belongings and at least leave things on slightly better terms.

Tea, you have just reported some suspicious behaviour to the police, his mum has been in contact with you, and he is apparently contacting a solicitor for some weird and wonderful reason.

Have things really calmed down, or are you just trying to convince yourself they have so that you can justify to yourself getting back in touch with him?

You would have already contacted him and wouldn't be posting on here if you genuinely thought it was the right thing to do.

Trust your gut, something is stopping you contacting him. Listen to that something.

Welcome Charlie! Don't worry, peeing on the floor is mild compared to some of the conversations that go on around here!
  • Pyxis, where are you? Sounds good....
I've been to Africa a few times (DRC, Zambia, Tamzania, Kenya, RSA) partly with work and partly due to my ex-OH living in DRC so we had a house there I went to. Love the continent and my next dream trip is 4x4 in Namibia and also driving to Vic Falls (in different trips).... Spent quite a while going on safari for weekends and love elephants, giraffes and hippos :)
  • Fuming over the pond scum that had a go at my Mam in town. My Mam has vision and balance problems, and accidentally knocked into this man as she was walking down the street. She apologised, but just got a mouthful off him and his skanky wife, such as "watch where you f'ing going" etc.

I was already in the shop at this point, and my Mam came in blood boiling telling me all about it, when they walked in. My Mam went over to try to explain that her vision isn't the best, and some people's disabilities aren't immediately obvious, and was there any need to talk to her in that disgusting tone. The guy starts on her again, and there was no way I was standing for someone talking to my Mam like that and so went over and was like "Oi! Don't you dare talk to my Mam like that! She has vision and balance problems and bumped into you by accident, so just leave it"....he skulked off out of the shop but his go by wife said "oh, here come the excuses, here come the violins" I won't tell you what I said to her, but eventually she backed off leaving me muttering that she didn't have the intellect to have the common sense and decency that most people do and so it was pointless trying to reason with her. She shouted something down the shop, not sure what, so I just told her to b*gger off. :o

Welly - I think what's stopping me is the fear of getting into trouble with the police!

Georgie - I would be raging too! Some people should not be allowed out in public!! Hope your mum's OK. We call my mum the anti-weeble, as she wobbles but she does fall over :D

    Georgie is your mum ok?

So after a wonderful almost 2 weeks (or normal length of time) noise is back and car park is full woop

Couldn't get hold of agent so bye job.
Oh the pip report I was told by the really dismissive CAB person I wouldn't get cos of data protection (er it's OH data) came so will be working g through that
  • Yeah she's fine thanks :) She's pretty fiesty so I think was more annoyed than anything. I just didn't like the two of them having a go at her, two against one.

Anti-weeble! :rotfl: I think my Mam could be classed as that too!

I'm a mixture of my Mam and Dad. I can be quiet, calm and laid back like my Dad, but like my Mam in that I'll be feisty and say my piece if anyone harms or attacks any of my friends or relatives.

Sorry you're still having struggles Melly :(

Got some of that Turkish yoghurt that Calley was talking about abit back. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks nice!

I will be ok. Docs again tomorrow and applied for more jobs.
As people were stuck where we live for 4-7 hours I think not going to interview was the right call even if it lost me the job.

Calley give the rabbit a squish (still want a pic)
