Blocked HSE Director from former employers and he keeps looking at my profile on LinkedIn and asking if anyone has heard from me
Think he's feeling guilty0 -
Ref slippers - I was going to suggest cosyfeet as they do small sizes and a wide range of fittings, but there doesn't seem to be anything on there with heels.
Has she seen her GP for an orthotics referral as then they could do inserts made specifically for her needs? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I can't see any slippers that might that criteria either SJ. I know you say she needs a heel because of ankle problems, but might a wedge heel be safer incase she goes over on her ankle?0

Thanks Whitewing & Pyxis. The Hotter styles look lovely and cosy, but too flat. (I find it hard to get my head round paying £55 for slippers, mine tend to be under a tenner from Tescos!)
The lifts might help, great idea. She had a pair of shoes made but can't wear them as they are too deep, if you see what I mean. It seems the powers that be can't get their heads around someone who can't put their feet flat on the ground, I fear Age UK may well have the same expectations.
At the moment, she only has a pair of summer strappy sandals to wear indoors and it would be lovely to find something cosier. Basically she only walks just a little indoors with a walking frame.
Yes, the GP referred her to have the shoes mad,e it took a year! But she can't wear them.
Wedge heels would be a good idea.
She can't put her foot to the floor, hence the need of a heel to fill the gap.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
From experience in my previous line of work, the orthotics people don't make built up slippers or sandals because there isn't the support for the rest of the foot. We could only ever get shoes made. But they could still do inserts even if specially made slippers isn't an option, so she could ask to go back again.
On the ready to buy front, there doesn't seem to be anything with a heel over about 1 - 1.25 inches. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks Elsien.
She was so put off by them taking a year to make her shoes - well to fix special soles to ready made ones - that she doesn't want to start again. Also, she now lives in a different county. Also, she's the same age as the Queen so doesn't want to start anything too involved.
She just wants warm toes!Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
Oh IT people.
My laptop keeps trying to get me to download windows 10 and I don't want to is there anyway of getting it to stop asking?
I am aware this is a silly question but too tired to think0 -
Bit of a radical idea but I am wondering if a pair of comfy normal shoes along with these (I apologise if I stretch the thread)

will keep her lower extremities warm and glamorous and give her a more casual look. I like the pink shoes with the white
And plenty of iron and water will help:

Has she got a podiatrists/chiropodist? - they may be able to provide or recommend inserts that would help. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
