Calley - I love Brooklyn 99. Mr CP takes the world's longest showers too. It is a bit difficult to restrict someone's shower time without coming across as a drill sergeant, especially if that person is paying rent. How about you give him a pass on the long showers as long as he pays full rent on time every month.

I do understand that. But he has not paid full rent this month. I buy all the tea, coffee and milk. I do his washing as he seems to create very little and bung it in with mine. And its my washing powder etc. I provide loo rolls and even all the bedding and duvet/pillows he is using are mine.

I have lent him a radio as well.

Which you would not get in house share or normally when renting a room.

he has hoovered up about twice and washed up a couple times after sharing meal. Which I have cooked and paid for.

He has it easy and really does nothing here. So now am I being unfair. I don't think I am.

    Yours

    Calley

    hbs, sorry about your news.

Best of luck with interviews, job hunters extraordinaire!

My mantra this year is definitely 'healthy as I can' as that is one thing I have some control over if everything else goes belly up.

I am having 'winter soup' and baguette for lunch. Baguette without butter as that is how DH presented it to me.

Big hugs for you and your DH HBS, what rubbish news! Hope you're both successful in finding something new quickly! Will you be getting decent pay-outs?

Hugs for you too with your Big Blue Sad today Code. Hope it can be shaken off!

You're in a tough situation Calley, it's more like he's moved in as an adult child rather than a lodger! Is there any advice on the housing section as to what can and can't be expected of a lodger? I'd stop doing his washing and cooking food for him for starters unless the favour was repaid regularly. Maybe make a point of clearing space in the fridge and cupboard for his food, coffee and milk etc and let him know that he's expected to use his own, allocate him his own loo and tell him to buy his own toilet paper and keep it clean... or bump his lodge up by another £50 to cover all of these 'incidentals'.

Sorry calley, I didn't mean it to sound like I thought you were being unfair. Just thought maybe you could use the showers in a 'if you paid your full rent I'd give you peace but as you felt a tablet was more important than a roof over your head, and you seem to think I'm your mum, I'm restricting your luxuries'.

*Ahem* I meant keep the loo clean! :p Although I'm sure that you can buy reusable toilet 'paper' from somewhere so technically you'd be able to keep that clean in a roundabout way...
