SJ - it's frustrating isn't it? My mum has non-standard problems with her legs and feet (if that makes sense) and finding any shoes can be a nightmare. Once she does find a half-decent pair we really stock up! Hope you manage to find something suitable x.
Brrr.... how cold is it today?! Spent the last couple of hours on a train and every time the door opened it took my breath away.0 -
-1 to -2 at 7am when I left for work this morning, plenty cold enough, though not as bad as a few years back when it got down to -6 for few days and -9 at one point, and I'm down south!
On the plus side, the sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky, which is much nicer IMO than a few degrees warmer and grey and wet.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Yes it certainly looked pretty - frosty fields and hazy sunshine, much nicer than the usual grey dreariness.0

I think I am going to miss the deadline for my tax return. Only by a few days but then it is going to be a nightmare to sort out the knock on effects with tax credits etc. Pain in the 'arris.
Had to penguin it because it is scaring me.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Have put the ball firmly in my ex partners court & sent a message (well email because of its length) stating what I'm willing to do to make the relationship work, including not pressuring on moving in full time & even going as far to say that I will move to the other end of the country if the time comes when she needs to go home & also showing how we can if we work hard overcome the barriers that she feels are in front of us.
Nothing else I can do or say now. I'm fairly certain I wont get a reply but a least I will never think to myself 'what if'.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

Solar, I have the same problem as your friend, compounded by the fact that when my feet were developing when I was 13 onwards silly me always wore high heels. I developed very high arches and now have arthritis in my ankles so if I walk bare foot I walk on the balls of my feet. I always find wedges to be the best option, trainers can sometimes work well as can very soft ankle boots, I find boots support my ankles more. Usually a 1.5 heel is enough, anything lower and the pain is awful after an hour or so, I do sympathise.
Do what you can, whitewing. Don't push yourself. I wouldn't know where to start with something like that, I have never done one so admire anyone who manages to do it. I think I would just freeze in horror.
Big hugs HBS. Don't panic something will come up and it could be something much better!
Big hugs Melly, crossing everything for you!
You have done all you can Oakdene. You are right you don't need to think of the what-if's now. You have been totally reasonable.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Have you heard from her at all since all this started Oakdene? (((hugs))), it's never easy when you're sailing happily along and the rug's pulled out from under you. I hope you're able to get some answers.0
