Snowing here so the naughty dogs walk is off - too much potential for broken limbs. So now I need to find other avoidance mechanisms for my long list of cleaning jobs.
I always thought I'd like a cleaner, then I realised I wouldn't want them in the bedroom or study and they'd never battle their way into the kitchen so that doesn't really leave a lot.

I'm with you on the bananas melly - was put off for life by that banana flavoured milk we used to have as kids. I seem to have lost my ability to make decent porridge, no idea what I'm doing wrong.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Rain here.

    Ditto on the cleaner.

    I love bananas!

Re. the porridge, how are you making it?

I use Original coarse-milled oats, as I prefer a rougher texture. Mix in my own combination of nuts, seeds, berries. Add almond milk, (the amount of which depends on whether you like it runny or thick), then pop in the microwave. Then add honey to taste.

It soaked overnight in full fat milk.
I like mine thick so took half out heated it till it was gloopy added some blueberries and manged two spoons (stupid panicking)

Going shop then sleeping for a bit and sorting myself out so I at least look good tomorrow.
Need a plum top (match me boots)
Also really need my safety shoe's
  • Am 50/50 on bananas. Hate them when they're too hard but also when they're too soft, but know they're good for you, so try and have one every now and again, but they're really not my favourite fruit by a long way.

We've hardly got any snow here at all. It's laid abit on the cars, but that's about it, and even that is slowly melting away. :(

Measure oats. Put in twice as much water. Or 1 1/2 times as I can't decide which I prefer. Put on hob. Start stirring. Get bored and wander off to do something else. Get summoned back by slight burning smell. Discover porridge has turned into wallpaper paste with black edges. Give it to Gitdog.
Did try making it in the microwave, but couldn't get on with it for some reason. And Gitdog sulks if there's no scrapings for him.
You wouldn't think a simple bowl of porridge could be so hard to make.:rotfl:

What's on tomorrow melly, anything special? I've skim read a bit so sorry if I've missed it.

    Both of mine love porridge

I did have a wonderful dribbly tomcat love last night I got him some Felix cheesy mix goody bag so I am apparent wonderful and need dribbling on purr to get louder and then nipping.

Going to spend some time with him today OH says he sulked when I went in with the dogs (Froo loves him helicopter tail and everything, he unfortunately doesn't believe that anything other than me and OH should live or indeed walk past here)

OH was saying yesterday tomcat isn't the same cat he even looks different.
He wasn't territorial at MILs, he kicks the cap out of anything that comes near here.
    He plays lots
    Loves brushes

I think he stayed with MIL cos he loved her but was depressed, he'd worked out he wanted to come here so worked on OH.
He isn't sharing here cos it's cushy.
  • My Dad was an expert at making porridge. He made it every morning for him and my Mam. I'm not sure of the quantities he used, but he either made it all with milk or half water/half milk, and then covered it with so much stuff (walnuts, almonds, blueberries, raisins etc) that you could hardly see the porridge!

I'm not a big fan myself. I've had it a few times, but sometimes it makes me gag. Then again, I don't really eat breakfast.

Although for some reason, I always seem to be abit peckish on a Sunday. I've just read about someone wanting to sit by the fire with a cup of tea and an egg banjo after they've been out in the snow, and I'm like what on earth is an egg banjo? Basically a fried egg sandwich as far as I can make out, and now I want one! :rotfl:

It sounds revolting to me, but then I hate runny yolk!

    QUOTE:
Egg Banjos are so ingrained into the life of the Army that they warrant an entire thread on ARRSE; Egg Banjo's, God's Own Food

A sandwich made from (usually) half stale white bread, spread on both insides with margarine and slotted in with at least one greasy fried egg, preferably soft yolk to distribute better, covered with sauce of own choice, brown or tomato(ketchup to the Spams).

    It becomes a banjo when....

...the yolk and sauce dribble down your front. You move the hand containing the sandwich away and up to a point level with your ear as you look down your front and usually to an accompanying "Aw !!!!!!!!" you wipe/smear the said yolk & sauce into your shirt with your free hand giving a passing imitation of playing 'air banjo' UNQUOTE
