    I love

  • I have been absorbed in the snooker all day, to the extent that I accidentally used plain flour instead of self-raising in the muffins I baked this afternoon :o

Have just noticed how snowy it is outside.
  • The snow didn't really lay much at all here. Am hoping it snows loads over night! :D

Tonight's Jonathan Ross was good. Michael Caine was really funny and have now got abit of a crush on Sylvester Stallone! Can't believe he's nearly 70!

I was told last week that I am 'self-defeating'. a
At the time, I took it to mean that I put myself down, but then I googled it. Now I feel ridiculously hurt and confused about it. It wasn't made by someone who is nasty but I don't know how it was meant. When I got home, I cried but all DH said was, 'you chose to go' - he didn't think I should go because I had been to the doctors and he also knew I was tired.

I don't know how to not be bothered by the comment. And I am even wondering whether I am trying to manipulate all of you into being sympathetic. I am having 'bad thoughts' and that hurts too that I can still be so affected by something someone has said.

(The good thing is that, unlike in the past, I can get through the day without analysing it constantly so for the majority of the day I am reasonably content).

I don't even know why I am posting this. I may delete it as I feel exposed.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • WW, I have only penguined this as your original is penguinny.

I don't understand it either, really. But it could mean that you do great stuff and then deliberately hide it under a bushell, or don't make the most of it in some way. Or just (and I suspect this may be true) that you simply put yourself down and don't have the confidence to do everything that you can do.

I am a great fan of Richard Bach (who wrote Jonathan Livingstone Seagull. This quote is from The Reluctant Messiah.)

'Argue your limitations and they are yours.' (Very true I think)
