...And I just got snapped at by the Letting Agent. He happened to be here to show a potential buyer around the building so we dragged him in. When he actually saw it he asked why I didn't tell him how bad it was sooner and got huffy with me. Now I am thinking it's my fault for not describing it properly. Oh well, at least something will be done ASAP. I will be sobbing quietly at the back of the fort. Please throw cuddly toys and chocolate.

In the hot tips section - had a funny smell from air con in car recently and remembered reading something about turning it up to full heat and then down to freezing etc to kill bacteria in the air con system as this is what can cause the smells and have just tried it (making sure it went through all the different vents) and it has worked a treat.
    That's an interesting tip.
Out of interest, do you have the aircon serviced annually? If not, that could be why.
I must admit, because I'm asthmatic and prone to all these URTIs, I get them to service the aircon annually whether it needs it or not! I use the aircon a lot, because I get so hot and sweaty when the sun comes out! Don't use it for heat quite so much these days, as I do fewer long journeys than I used to.

  • Thank you, Pyxis!

Also, WaSp's blood pressure is back up to 190 so they have put him on a new drug. The doctor told WaSp to get it today and because dear WaSp very literal he insists that he needs to do it right now. The pharmacist nearby is closed so he needs to travel into the town centre which will take an hour. The plumber might come while he is out which means a stranger in the flat while I am on my own. I am not having a good day and this not being an adult thing is going very wrong!

  • Monkey cat is being particularly cuddly lately, so he offers up his services to you WaS. :)

The letting agent shouldn't have snapped at you and should have dealt with it a lot better than he did. I guess it was a bit of a misunderstanding and miscommunication, and he was probably angry at himself and not you for not noticing how bad things were sooner. At least things should hopefully get sorted for you now. :)

We have snow! :D Okay, so it's just very slow at the moment, but the flakes are big, so I'm hoping it lays! It's been on the fells for days, and it looks beautiful!

    A

When I got the car I have now, I was chuffed that it had air conditioning, because I'd never had a car that had it before. Blooming typical isn't it that it doesn't work?! I thought it just needed re gassed or something, but was told that it wasn't possible for some reason? Then again, just thinking about it now, it was KF who told me that, so I'm thinking I should get a second opinion.
  • Hold on a moment, I'm doing a double take here.

You did WHAT? And you just mentioned this in passing? Isn't this a bit of a TREMENDOUS ACHIEVEMENT???? Well done you - brilliant handling of the situation!!!! :T:T:T:T:T

The man is a total b4stard, isn't he!!! How DARE he get huffy with you? (Actually I might have done the same. The reason is that he is TOTALLY embarrassed to find he has made such a total prat of himself. He didn't know what to do, so he tried to blame you. I hope I wouldn't behave like that, but I can see it's human nature.) He hasn't handled the situation well, and you called him out in front of a prospective customer. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!! :rotfl:

  • The Letting Agent knocked on the door and apologised which was sweet. The potential buyer is late and he has had his wife on the phone asking where he is, he is rather stressed. All is forgiven, he looks like he might go pop soon, poor man. He still shouldn't have snapped though, it's not my fault his day is going wrong. Ours isn't exactly going great! He will get a plumber out today, now I just need WaSp back to supervise it all.

On top of all of that Millefleur's fan in the bathroom has half fallen off of the ceiling. She wanted him to fix it today but he told her it was impossible and to get BIL to turn off the electricity to there. I reacted helpfully by pulling my blanket over my head and telling WaSp I was never coming out again. It made him laugh at least.

  • OK, I will half forgive the LA. :) No, tell Millfleur that she can manage for the time being - maybe a lovely bath or shower by candlelight :D

You will cope! I have great faith in you - WaSP will be back soon, and thank heavens the plumber is coming today!

  • Hahahaha! Thank you, JM! I am not sure coping is the right word right now it's more sticking my head down and waiting for the next thing! If WaSp isn't back in time I am sure that I will handle the plumber, I have gone into deal with everything mode! It probably means I will be ill in a couple of days time but nevermind that for now.

WaSp's blood pressure is a little worrying. It had dropped but now it's very high again. The dripping ceiling, and possible eviction won't be helping of course. On the bright side the new pill widens his arteries which should stop anymore blood vessels popping, he will be back to weekly doctors appointments for a while though. He has more medical care than I do much to his horror!

Mind you, even though he has apologised, I am wondering what part of " there is a leak coming through the bedroom ceiling from the flat above and soaking our mattress" he did not consider to be worth acting on as an emergency situation?

This should cheer you up....just heard it while watching a recording of QI from last night! (I love word plays!)

    Q. How do you titillate an ocelot?
    A. You oscillate its titalot!
