Penguin to Georgie-
I am so sorry to hear about the dear couple and your uncle. I am sure the couple would be so touched to know that they made such a positive impact on you, they sounds lovely. As does your uncle, sometimes it is the jolly people who hurt the most. I am very bubbly and bouncy and don't look as if I have ever suffered with depression at all when the opposite is true. It is sometimes the people who cannot express how low they actually feel and whom keep it locked inside themselves that find it hardest to cope. From experience suicide is often the only release that you feel you have, I know in my case when I have attempted it I have been utterly convinced that I was helping people by not being here, I truly believed that people would be better off without me and could go on to live far happier lives without the burden of me hanging around their necks. I still have days when I think that.
Penguin to whitewing-
Can you define whether it is BPD thoughts or reactive suicidal thoughts to events? As you know I have BPD too and I probably think about suicide 3 times a day. I am not about to do it but the thoughts are always there. Please do talk to your OH, or us or the Samaritans if you need to, if you contact the Samaritans they won't report it to your study so you will still be able to complete it. Do you have techniques that you can use to help control the emotions? I could list a load here but you very likely know them already. Please, please take care of yourself, we all think of the world of you and are always here for you.

Aww, poor Gitdog, Elsien! I would cuddle him! Doctor Who was good, you must catch up because it's a two-parter!
Pyxis, I just turned to WaSp and said "I am not a turtle". He rolled his eyes and mumbled "nutter" under his breathe... you sound as if you are having a lovely holiday!
Lovely to hear from you Welly, and a huge welcome to our Escapette! It sounds like things were a little traumatic for a while so do get plenty of rest while you can, I am around at silly o'clock most days so do post if you are awake with baby and we can always chat!
Doctor Who monster face is continuing! This is a very strong cream and it has just burnt the top layer of my skin off, it's worse than the spots! Otherwise all is well though and I have discovered that chocolate brownies do not make my stomach react! Not having a good day. Been snowed under at work, so much so I missed lunch. Ordered a delivery yesterday of some supplies on next day delivery and only 2/3 of it has showed up which has pushed my stress levels up and DH got me a ready meal which is supposed to be pork but tastes like chicken. I am allergic to chicken.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Congratulations on Escapette Katy.
Can we change the thread motto to 'I am not a turtle'?
According to Google translate in Latin it's
Ego sum non turturem
Not sure if that's right.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I can vouch for the ego sum bit. After that, you're on your own. Latin O level didn't cover turtles, strangely enough. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
My school didn't even teach Latin, only French. And lots of classes on contraception.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Hahahahahaha! That actually made me burst out laughing code and now WaSp thinks I have lost the plot. Hope tomorrow is better for you!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I'm sure it will be ok. Just tired and stressed and eugh. I ate almost a whole big bag of minstrels, so a healthy nutritious dinner.
I did get new shoes. Or erm 3 new pairs of boots. DH is cross with me, but they were really cheap and I'll send back the ones that don't fit (maybe).Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I think it is more likely to be
Testudo non sum
(You don't need the ego unless you want to emphasise the fact that it is I.
I think turtur might mean a turtledove. (Turturem is the accusative).
Testudo means tortoise and turtle....apparently the Romans didn't differentiate between the two.
I will check though. Not sure if testudo is the right form of the noun. I need the nominative.(I just lurve spiders!)

Thank you for your kind words.

To the Lakota, the turtle (ke-ya) spirit brings health and longevity. In the past, a beaded turtle was put on the umbilicus or the crib of new born girls for protection and a long life (see picture on the linked website)/

[penguin reply]i'm sorry you're having these thoughts, even if you feel sure you won;t act on them, they're still not present to have. But i know how hard it can be to talk about them honestly. I finally got to a point with my doctors and psych at the time, that if i felt i was in danger of acting on it, i'd be honest. In some ways its because although i wanted to die, part of me knew it was my illness talking and i wanted someone to stop me. I've called and emailed smaratains a number of times and have felt that just having someone i could be honest about my feelins with helped a lot. I can be quite impulsive. My last suicide attempt, although i had been planning to do it, didn't happen when planned but on impulse (at my exes house.....and i wonder why his parents hated me) so being able to talk slows things down for me and makes it less likely i will act on impulse. I know you're reluctant to stop the study and go back on meds, but i'm sure they'd rather you did that than reach crisis point. I'll be up and around till about 3am, so if you need to talk then please feel free to PM me [end penguin]
Welcome to the world Escapette!! Congrats Welly, hope you're feeling ok, get lots of rest (or as least as much as you can)
Work has been super stressful (we were a person down as someone called in sick) and super busy (i believe its Eid), which is never a good combo.
