He did a bully run trampolining off my back. I shouted at him. He alternated between lying on my hair so I couldn't move, trying to sit on my head, and batting my face with his paw.
Anyone know about bad backs ? - can't sit down for long, probably need to keep moving, but don't know what to do that won't make it worse.

When do you hope to hear ref previous employer mellymoo?

Eta - ono, does your car have a sunroof? If so check round the aerial. You've just reminded me I was going to sort out the car for bad weather - blanket etc in case it goes pear shaped. In previous years I was able to walk to work if the snow was bad.

This happened to D's ford escort years ago. We had to sit on towels.

Just been on the phone to my Mam and she's just reminded me that my "bad weather" gear from the boot of my car is still in her garage. Not much use there if I get stranded anywhere is it?! :p In my effort to be organised, I got a boot organiser which looks good but nearly takes up the whole of the boot!

Ibuprofen will help with any swelling. Moving hurts but you need to do it. Voltarol gel is good (not sure if you can use with ibuprofen as it has diclofenac). Heat pads are also good. Is the pain upper or lower back?

Both. And I'm a wimp and don't do pain.
On the bright side, I'm not noticing the knee as much.:)
Poor Gitdog is going to be un walked again - yesterday's boing was possibly the trigger.

Try alternating hot and cold packs on the sore back. What type of pain is it? If it is a sharp pain in a particular location when you try and move it, that is reminiscent of a nipped nerve and so I would ice that and agree with the ibruprofen route. The rest of your back and body will then compensate for lack of movement and muscles get sore, so heat on other areas. Try really hard to relax the rest of your body as you will be holding yourself tight in anticipation pain which actually makes it worse. When my back went before my spinal operation I used a combination of everything from heat and cold packs and sprays and gels to acupuncture, massage, tens machines and a wonderful cocktail of drugs, but I did find a little portable tens machine was very helpful and I still use this today when I have back ache.

Can someone come and clean my house please? It's so messy and I have no motivation.

I know it gets knocked, but I find the 111 out of hours medical service useful for advice on medical issues, elsien. They may give you some ideas you haven't thought of.

ETA: code, do it in 15 min chunks. Make sure you have regular sit-down do nothing breaks and a glass of water. Have a hefty virtual kick up the backside
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • I'll come and do it for you code. I'm one of those sad individuals who actually doesn't mind cleaning. Although tell that to the upstairs of my house at the moment! I can't get that motivated that I can face the pile of clothes in the bedroom!

I always figure as long as the downstairs and bathroom is tidy then I'm ok with that. I usually do one room or at least part of a room and then have a "reward" such as a sit down and browse on the internet or watch something on tv.
