I ordered this dress which arrived on Sunday and it's soooooo tight and short I don't think I dare wear it! I even ordered bigger thinking it'd be a bit small, I should have ordered 3 times bigger! Oddly DH loves it as he's not used to seeing me in anything figure-hugging (or, in this case, squeezing the damn life out of my squishy bits!) and insists on me keeping it. Ho hum. Time to look for some super control top tights!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
What a pretty dress, Birdie. I love the shape and colour. DH thinks you look wonderful so you must do, take his word for it!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

It's annoying because, although I have a self-cleaning oven, it's only the sides; the top and bottom have heating elements in and so are of ordinary metal and are filthy!
Trouble is, all the proprietory cleaners say do not use on surfaces with heating elements in!
My next oven, I'll be going back to gas!(I just lurve spiders!)

Yay! that's great news Melly! Now have a pet cuddle and relax.
We have discovered that there is burnt stuff stuck to the heating element, Pyxis. We aren't sure what to do about it because as you say you cannot use cleaners on it. This would be what was causing the black smoke. I suppose we could burn it off but we might choke to death in the process! Or just take a flame thrower to the oven and learn to live without one, that is sounding appealing.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Thanks for the kind words about the Uni thing. Unfortunately there is no break over the Christmas period and in fact I have two assignments due the week after, one of which is a group work assignment and I am not sure about the others in my group, they are nice enough but young and so have a different attitude. I know it seems odd maybe, but when I have scrimped and saved thousands of pounds to be able to afford this, I want nothing under a distinction result. I have tried all my techniques for studying, but so far to no avail, things are not sticking. I am finding the VAST amount of information is getting to me. For my first degree, we had to make do with the books and journals of our Uni or town, now, with the advent of the Internet, every single published item on a topic is available at your fingertips and with thousands and thousands of articles on every topic, I am finding it overwhelming. My husband has always teased me for being a swot, but I have always thought it was best to make the best of any opportunity, and I am not currently making the best of this. How do I get my head to accept it is just not this intelligent?0 -
lmao at the oven cleaning............. I did mine in the summer and it took 9 days........... I know because I wrote down what I had tried every day. May I recommend that the burnt stuff on the element does indeed need to be burnt off........in fact I would say the first thing to do is to turn it all on and up to max temp and let it all burn off for half an hour..(with doors closed/windows open etc to prevent choking)...........so............... oven cleaning should be done in the summer...............so everyone is off the hook! xxx
but once it's done........ leave a flat baking tray on bottom of oven from then on........much easier to remove and wash/or replace that!0 -
Fly is it completely new subject matter?
You know sometimes stuff can take a while to click.
Maybe limit sources of information to industry standard etc.
Had a message from the she director at work......0 -
Something my teacher friend told me flybaby was that professors are not looking at how much knowledge you have, they are looking at how much you have learnt from the study programme for what that specific paper/exam asks. They aren't expecting you to know the subject inside out with all of it's offshoots, just how well you have understood what they have taught you and what they have directed you to learn about.
This was a huge help to me because I used to think I needed to study every aspect of a subject and absorb it all but they really aren't expecting that. One needs to narrow it down to the specific field of study that has been asked for and become proficient at that, other areas of the subject will come later. Or, to sum it he told me to read the question and subject of the specific paper and stick to that, the rest isn't important until it's signposted.
We are following your advice! The oven is on and we can smell burning already. The windows are open, wish us luck!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
