  • Aw, not ridiculous, tea! I really miss kitty cuddles myself.

Hang in there Flybaby, you sound like me when I was studying. No one ever judged my work as harshly as myself.

I have just been given the Warm Home Payment on my electricity account, so I have put the heater on for the first time this year! I panic every year that I won't be eligible so won't risk heating until it turns up. This has made my day, I can be warm!

I got my gas bill the other day and I am £156 in credit with them. I pay £20 a month. Where I am its is still very warm. I have hardly put the heating on. And if I feel a little chilly a fleecey blanket comes out to cover me over on the sofa.

During the summer months I use gas for water heating and cooking so use very little.

I have upped up the amount I pay for electric by £5 a month. Council tax bill has gone up £20. Will need to let the water people know to up my DD as well. Now my friend has moved in. But he is paying me money so thats ok its covered.

Hang in there Flybaby. My first year of uni, I was a total wreck. It didn't really settle down until I made some good friends and settled in which took a long time. As for the grades, don't worry. You'll get a grade within a band and it really doesn't make any difference if you are at the top or bottom of that band because nobody will know or care. Don't give up.

Tea, I sob like a child whenever I leave DA dog even if its only for one night and even if its with the inlaws even though he loves it there. Then I miss him dreadfully.

Really good news on the credit, Calley! Here we are entirely electric for everything so the bill tends to be quite big. Because of my thyroid condition my body gets stuck in one temperature, in summer I stay too hot and in winter I stay too cold. If I get cold I will stay shivering for hours no matter how much warmer it gets and likewise with heat so I try to stay at a level temperature. Anything below 20 degrees and I feel freezing but anything over 24 and I'm sweating. Having said that, I much prefer feeling cold to feeling hot so I won't have the heater on a great deal anyway.

The first year of uni I was drunk and partying. Almost the whole time. I am surprised I ever passed it.

Good luck GG (and Mr GG of course). I hate when you get half-information like that. Just announce something or don't - an announcement about an announcement just freaks everyone out! Will have everything crossed for you that it's good news (or at least, not bad news!)

Had a 5am start and am so knackered and past caring already today. Plus, and I know this sounds ridiculous, I'm really missing P cat :( I'm stuck in a hotel tonight and I know he'll be well looked after (read: spoilt by grandparents lol) but there are days when only a cat cuddle will do and this is one of them.

Thanks tea :) I agree, just spit it out and say what's going on. It could be to do with it's an American company, and if bosses from the states are going to be in in this conference call, then I guess 3pm would make sense because of the time difference?

Apparently, a few of D's bosses have just found out they have been made redundant :( Although I know from personal experience, they nearly always start at the top and get rid of the bosses first.

Redundant or a move to pod working, either way, it looks like he'll be looking for a new job. :( Unless for some reason he's allowed to carry on working from home. We'll see soon enough I guess :)

Doesn't sound ridiculous at all about P cat. Like you say, sometimes only a cuddle off a cat will do....now where is my little fluffster at?! :D

Last year I no working boiler so was using an electric heater so I know how much more it costs to keep warm using that.

I do prefer to be on the cooler side. And I don't do well in hot weather.

On christmas day the heating will be on all day LOL!!!!

  • All we have are electric heaters, the radiators were turned off by the new landlady so it's more expensive than it could be. It was 13 degrees in here before I put the heater on which is way too cold for me even though I am in a (teddy bear) onesie and under a blanket. We shall have the heating on all Christmas Day too!

Crossing everything for you both, Georgie. Not long to wait.

WaS, I have my dress and snowman leggings too. Yay.

Electricity and gas bills are massive as DH and I are always cold and live in Scotland. And I refuse to be cold in my own home. I need to change supplier I think.

Hope the call goes well Georgie.

Enjoy the tour HBS, I've been twice and it's awesome. Will be great going around Christmas as they decorate for the 'Yule Ball'! Did you see that they sold tickets for Christmas dinner in the great hall?! You should be able to get a bauble, we have a gorgeous one from HP Land in Florida and we noticed that the studios and the them park have a lot of the same stuff for sale. We took Small Bird in May when he'd just started toddling and he wobbled down Diagon Alley, stumbled over the Hogwarts bridge and ran off with a Hedwig toy! :p

Glad you're nice and warm now WaS! :)

Sorry about your DH's work woes, Georgie. :(
