Georgie I hope things work out for you. Another positive to think about... Due to the distance, Mr Georgie is unlikely to be competing against other peopke from the same company for any jobs he goes for.

Tea, could you put your feet up and watch some TV to take your mind off it? That's what I used to do after pilfering all the toiletries. If make load of cups of tea to use up all the free tea bags, and just watch rubbish telly.

Yay for sleep Melly! Sounds odd, but from your posts you can almost tell you have slept a little!

Feeling a little emotional this evening, probably due to lack of sleep.

tea - I utterly hate having to stay in hotels for work.....big squishes....and suggestion for next time - can you take a pillowcase that said pet has been on etc........not sure of the correct phrasing as I am not an animal lover.......but I do sometimes steal the pillowcase from hubbys pillow and take ear plugs when I am staying away from work... is that sad?

Georgie - all in all, redundancy just sucks, big hugs

Welly - hiya **waves** I have expertly avoided doing any study today and have now got just three days to complete an assignment (which I have not started) - ..........**runs off to clean the oven in the fort as part of more avoidance tactics** How has escapette been? Big smiles everytime she sees you?
  • GG, that's rubbish, all redundancy is. Best wishes and fingers crossed for you both.

I will admit to never having heard of pod working though...

  • Thanks all :)

I'd never heard of pod working myself until D first mentioned it abit back. I think it's an American thing (infact it probably is as the company is American) that's becoming more popular over here. I don't really understand it tbh, but it seems likes it's the "way forward" for this company.

Re putting a flat tray on the bottom in future...........same problem......it says not to put anthing on the bottom due to the heating elements being there. Stupid oven. I went for an electric one , so that with the gas hob, I was covered in case of any power cut. I forgot that I have a microwave, so I could have got a gas oven!

I also never use the grill, because you have to shut the door, which means you can't keep a proper eye on it , and it takes for ever, then suddenly burns! Grrrrr. I used to grill all the time when I had an ordinary old oven with an eye-level grill.......it was much much better!

  • Big hugs for you and D, Georgie, I am so sorry to hear that. There will be a consultation period so it won't be a sudden end of employment which should hopefully give you some breathing space. Have another hug.

Morning all! Guess who fell asleep at 7.30pm and is wide awake bright and early again? Sleep patterns are for other people. I couldn't find one paper relating to already present psychosis and sleep so I wrote to Oxford Uni and asked to be directed to a paper or suggested one of their students might want to study it and I would offer myself as a test subject. WaSp is telling me that you can't just do that, I can too!

Oven update- the bottom of the oven is actually grey, not black! I had forgotten that! I am still getting gassed by black smoke but the melted cheese has burnt off the element so it's better. Now just to clean the rest of it. This is an ongoing project...
