Morning Team WaS. How goes it?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Morning code. I'm at home having taken one of the sleeping tablets last night and not trusting myself to drive (the instructions on the packet of pills I was prescribed have a big warning about not driving the following day if you feel drowsy, and I certainly do). Got the work PC set up on the other desk next to me in my study and bashing away at that.
We don't have a work from home policy in my workplace, I just took the computer last night and did it.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
You took a PC home Ono?!
Thanks for the tips Melly, will pick up some stuff after work and hope DS goes to sleep early tonight so I can get a bit of rest! For the last couple of nights he's been terrible for going to sleep and just wants to 'read' The Gruffalo over and over again, pointing out the 'Owwwwwwwwwwl' and 'Ssssssssssssssss' (Snake!), thinking that if he's cute enough I'll let him stay up with me, and it only bl00dy works!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. And menthol crystals in hot water clean your nose and stuff out.
:rotfl: I thought you were talking about oven cleaning at first!
Mind you, if those ingredients shift catarrh, they might shift burnt-on grease! :rotfl:
Perhaps Coca-cola will clean ovens! :rotfl: It's supposed to be great for loos!
I have cleared out all the loose bits that have accumulated in the well of the oven door, I have just lathered the oven floor and door with neat biological washing liquid, which I will leave for several hours and then see.
Trouble is that with my poorly wrists, I can't do a lot of scrubbing, as they will then hurt for a couple of days.
Anyway, at least it'll be cleaner than it was.
Ages ago, I bought from Lakeland some special bags that you put the metal shelves into. They contain chemicals which are supposed to clean the burnt grease off. Probably time I tried them out, as scouring those wire shelves will deffo be the death of my wrists!
If they work well, I let you all know!
For years and years and years, I've been waiting for someone to invent a built-in device for the home, that you switch on and it magically sucks all the dust out of the room.
No! Not a vacuum cleaner! Something automatic! You switch it on and all the dust floats toward a filtered grill in the wall and disappears.
Hurry up, inventors!(I just lurve spiders!)

Ooooh, I am a step closer to learning more about my sleep patterns, The Very Important Professor I wrote to emailed me back and said I described a very interesting set of experiences and he was forwarding my email onto a colleague in London who he believed could answer my questions. Another colleague of his also said that although there might be ethical considerations I could be a prime candidate for a study, I would presume from a student undertaking a PHD. He also said my self-awareness made me fascinating (I'm giggling, I am actually really boring).
I would be perfectly fine with being the subject of a study, anything that gives more insight into psychosis for myself and others is more than welcome. What a lovely person for writing back to me so quickly, too.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

That sounds brilliant , WaS. Actually I have a couple of research questionnaires to fill out too when I can find the time.
I was fairly organised for Christmas but the rest of the family isn't. They want photos of littlewing for adding to their Xmas cards. Also want me to get a couple of presents for them to give other people as I will be in town.
Sometimes people underestimate how much time little 'reasonable' requests take.
I feel a list coming on. I am already on chocolate today.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I think I may send a card to this little girl (small penguin: pictures include burns injuries)

Oooh! Thanks for that! I shall definitely send her a card!
WaS, you'd best be careful about reading the article. It may be a trigger.(I just lurve spiders!)

Poor girl. All that tragedy and she has a ridiculous name too.
Ww - I'd send the photos but not do the shopping. That's so cheeky!! I know we ask you to help find presents but its so cheeky to expect you to actually go and buy them. Do they think you have nothing better to do? I'm furious on your behalf. Unless the people asking are Santa and Mrs Claus and you are an elf.
Ono - also working from home today. My colleagues will be wondering what I look like. Just on too much pain to cope with the commute. Good on you for not taking the risk and driving.
Pyxis - apparently a steam cleaner will work wonders on your oven. Not tried mine yet but hoping it helps.
Birdie - Gruffalo rocks. Also well done for reading to baby Birdie, even if you can probably recite it in your sleep.
WaS - there are many words to describe you. Boring is not one of them.
Oooh, for italian aficionados and hot chocolate lovers, I've just bought some ciobar which is italian hot chocolate sachets. They make a cup of very delicious thick Italian hot chocolate. Plus for our Italian speakers, the destructions are all in Italian so its educational too.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Wait. Steamers work on ovens? I have a steamer! *Dashes off to tell WaSp*Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
