It was like this one, but with the front and the rear part open to the sky. The luggage was in the front part, along with the driver. I was in the rear part, so got the spray! Most of the others were in the covered bit in the middle! They held about 10 or so people.
Unfortunately, we didn't jump over any other boats. :(
I've never been to Alton Towers, so I'm deprived! Hence my glee!

I was rather disappointed that the motoscafo to Torcello island and the one on the return to the airport went a bit more sedately, so no bouncing or spraying. :( Spoilsport!

Faerie, I think ww's advice is excellent, as always. You have become much more brave since you have been 'heard' here and I think what you really need is to be heard on a one to one basis by someone irl. I think the Samaritans will give you that. I wouldn't expect miracles from them, but I think it would really help you to actually talk to someone and feel that they're listening. This is your task for the day if you feel up to it.

Pyxis, I haven't been to Alton Towers either. I've been to Disneyland Paris, a theme park in the Netherlands, one in Australia, Port Aventura in Spain and another somewhere else, I cant think of. Oh and the Scottish one but that's terrible.

I need to get up but DA dog is cuddling in and making happy noises and being adorable. Can I just stay here and hug him all day? I'm finding work very anxiety making atm and as a result I am almost crying when I think about going in.

The trouble is, code, I find that the less I do something, the more I dread doing it. Up you get!

Yes. For various reasons I really didn't want to go to AmDram last night. I was quite stressed about something. I very nearly didn't go, but forced myself to at the last minute.

Of course, it was fine; the thing I'd been stressed about was ok-ed by the Director, so I enjoyed it in the end, and was so pleased I'd gone.

There have been some huge upheavals in the group, which are affecting everybody, and another one more specific to me, that reared up yesterday, resulting in my self-esteem plummeting. Going there was good, because although I still feel upset and bereft by the upheavals, at least I faced it and got it out of the way. Actually had a bit of a laugh, and got everyone laughing with a remark I made! :)

code - can you plan a nice treat for this evening as a reward for going? I have to talk myself into going to work with the promise of a relaxing evening in with a good book (how very rock n roll my life is!)

    Brownies tonight :D
  • Wow, you lot are chatterboxes this morning lol! :D

WaS, a new Icelandic friend, how cool! Have you ever tried Skyr? It's an Icelandic kind of yoghurt, I guess it's maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it!

They seem to be doing advent calendars for nearly everything now! I'm either getting a beauty one, or a candle one, and I'll probably get D a Hotel Chocolat one....adults need their advent calendars too you know! :p

Pyxis, I was the same Whooping and screaming on the speedboats on the thames! Not sure if I've been to Alton Towers either? I've definitely been to Lightwater Valley though. :) I read the other day that AT are paying off nearly 200 of their staff. Not surprised, as vistor numbers have significantly gone down since the Smiler crash.

Faerie, sorry to hear you're still having a rough time of things :( WW offers some great advice as always. :) Regarding the spending, I'm probably not the best person to advise in that respect. Not because I'm bad at it etc, but because regarding things like that, I see it in a very black and white way. I was always brought up in a way that if you can't afford it you can't have it, and you have to save for it. I've seen too many people get into bad ways with debt and it scares me. D's brother nearly lost his house, and D himself (many years back) got into abit of a mess with credit cards.

However, I'll try. :) Do you buy most of your stuff online? How do you pay? Can you start by cutting off that payment method? For example, if it's paypal, close your account, if it's credit cards, then cut them up. Maybe keep one for absolute emergencies, but hide it away, I've heard people freeze them so they don't have easy access....although I don't know how effective that is? You say you were made bankrupt? Do you not have a go to person regarding that, a debt adviser or someone? It sounds like you really need to talk to somebody, as the last thing you need in your condition is to be made homeless. Let us know how you get on. :)

Code, reply to your penguin personally, I didn't vote for them, I didn't want them back into power (D did, he said better the devil you know), I got the whole "your vote is a wasted vote as they'll never get in", but I really didn't want to vote for them again.

Another miserable rainy day here again. Was going to go up to Gretna today to the shopping centre, but not sure now as it is extremely foggy too. Not very good driving conditions to be honest.

I am having a right flap about a ridiculously tiny thing - someone slap me!

I feel really bad as it seems that I've messed my music teacher around loads lately - not intentionally but I've had to rearrange or cancel pretty much every lesson for the last couple of months due to work. We've finally got a new day and time sorted that should make like easier, and now there's a chance I'll have to work away again and miss the next lesson. Like I said, it's a stupidly tiny thing and I feel really stupid for fretting this much but I hate this. If I have to move or cancel another this lesson I think it might be the last straw and I'll have to cancel the lessons altogether, I can't cope with the stress of having to keep messing her around.

Have everything crossed that the other work people involved come back and say they can't make that date but it's not looking good.

Join me for the two minute silence

  • Absolutely WW. One of my biggest bugbears is people who can't take 2 minutes out of their day to show their respect. When I worked in retail, we always observed the 2 minute silence, and every single year without fail, there were disrespectful idiots who just carried on talking.
