Now I want a Fuzzy Felt Advent Calendar!

Do you get a piece behind every door, and then you put them together to make a scene? Is that how it works?

Flybaby, thirty-eight, schmirty-eight! Let that inner child out!
The motorboat that took some of us from the airport to the Venice hotel was very bouncy and threw up lots of spray. I was the one going wheeee! at every bounce, and giggling like a drain when I got sprayed yet again! :rotfl:

Hi guys, just popping in to say hi.. Piggles and Waves.. you're both so brave dealing with DID .:) . I'm on the dissociative spectrum, I'm pretty fragmented but I don't think it's full blown dID with me.. I'm still so low, I've been retreating and hiding, I just can't muster any hope still.. I didn't go back to the mind group.. I interrupted somebody and the group facilitator told me off and then at the beginning of the next group held me up and berated me for a good 5 mins.. I felt really humiliated and disassociated badly,, I couldn't go back.. I think I'm too unwell to be in a group, especially without any 1 to 1 therapy. The other thing he brought up in front of the group was that I can't keep things in a nutshell. I now don't have a single place to go, thing to do, I'm getting really agoraphobic , I so want to feel safe.. I had a bowel obstruction that was really scary yesterday, vomiting, fever and a lot of pain.. I didn't know if my bowel was perforating again, This hospital is criminal leaving me in this precarious health state.. I'm going to contact my MP again tomorrow to pick up the fight.

My BPD/Bipolar binge spending is really out of control.. I don't know why but I can't seem to stop hoarding makeup.. I'm getting dangerously close to my rent money , I don't know why I can't stop, I think I'm trying to fill the hole where there is a lack of love.. a lack of lots of emotional things that I need but don't have.. security safety, company .. If you guys have any tips for impulsive overspending please can you share them with me.. I need to stop, but I don't know how.. there's nowhere for me to go with this, I'm not making ends meet as it is and I went bankrupt last year so I can't get into debt again and I don't want to not be able to pay my rent and bills.and end up homeless. , . Hope your all as ok as you can be .. Faerie
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

I am awake. Bleedin Mr Codigopombo waking me up!

That fuzzy felts advent calendar is awesome. I need that! I used to love fuzzy felts when I was little. I bought maltesers ones but an extra one never hurt anyone, did it? MI even bought one for DA dog!

WaS, I have ridden Icelandic horses. There's a place in Edinburgh that has them and you go riding in the Pentland hills. It's so much fun, except one bit where you're riding a narrow path with a drop on the other side, but you just trust the horse to know how to do that bit.

Elsien, wish I could help. Family are struggling with that a bit at the moment too. Codigopombo dad who is 82, got taken into hospital last weekend and was supposed to be admitted, was sent home because there was no bed. He is on a catheter and they didn't even refer him to the district nurses. It's a good thing my mum used to be a nurse but it's too much for her. They finally managed to get one but at no point were they told they were supposed to be. I'm sure that there are so many other services they should be getting. But because of the funding cuts for the NHS, amongst other things (wee penguin about politics, sort of I know we're not supposed to be political but what on earth were you English people thinking when you reelected that lot?! ) it means that geriatric services (the people who paid into the services all their lives believing that they'd get taken care of), are slipping through the cracks as it's the least visible way to make the cuts. GP shouldn't just be washing their hands of it though, that's irresponsible.

This isn't a political post as I don't have a particular affinity; it's an observation of events.

I seem to remember an election pledge the first time round about much more funding for MH services and Geriatric medicine, hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
No wonder I've become so cynical. Trouble is, all the parties are exactly the same in that respect, so who does one vote for? :(

Very jealous of your Venice trip Pyxis. Must go back. I love that instead of a boring taxi journey from the airport, you have to go by boat.

I'm convinced my Portuguese app should be called Portuguese for secret agents. Some of the phrases are very odd things I'd never say in English, let alone Portuguese.

Well, most people were taken on the ferry, but because there were fewer of us going to this particular hotel, and it had its own landing stage, we were put in two motoscafo, whoops! that should be motoscafi, plural!, motorboats! Wheeee!

Your Portuguese app is puzzling. Is it a serious phrase-book, or a spoof?

It's a serious app but it teaches in terms of grammar and sentence structure rather than phrases so you can speak the language like a native speaker eventually rather than phrases that might actually be useful. It would probably help if I had the brain power to put it all together but as there seems to be 6 million ways to say the same thing, I'm still rubbish :rotfl:

That sounds amazing Pyxis. They look really cool. Did you feel all George Clooneylike?

He got married in Venice and all the paparazzi photos were of him in a speedboat.

I could have said James Bond. I had a James Bond game when I was younger involving a speedboat and you had to avoid obstacles and jump things while speeding along. It was brilliant.

    faerielight,

I wish you would pick up a phone and give the Samaritans a call each day for a few weeks. I think you need the human contact of hearing a voice and having someone respond to you a bit more spontaneously than we do on here.

    From here:

    116 123 (UK)
    116 123 (ROI)
If there's something troubling you, then get in touch.

We're here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you need a response immediately, it's best to call us on the phone. This number is FREE to call.

Just talk, don't try to solve things.

I can sympathise about the 'nutshell' comment, and interrupting. I have done both (and still do sometimes). I would be hurt too at being told off when I felt so fragile.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
