Pyxis thanks for the cat stuff, although I had sole responsibility for my own cat for such a long time I know what's involved. He was the best thing I ever did and it feels like yesterday I had him and I don't forget all the things I needed to do. There's no way I'd be phased if a new cat brought in a dead/live critter or needed worming. The problem is purely the rescue places are a long way away.
Perhaps I don't come across as excited because I generally don't get outwardly excited by things and keep it to myself. I'm not very girly in that way but it doesn't mean I don't care or haven't thought about things.Vets are the first thing I work out.

Particularly as you have DID you may want to look into a specific therapy for that if your others are in agreement? The type we had doesn't change anything other than get you all talking and sharing memories if it's agreed with all parties. It made us all work far better together and the missing time stopped, now we chat away so that we can make sure everyone is happy. Keep it in mind, don't do it unless you are all willing to but it was a huge benefit to us. It is very different to counselling.
Thanks WaSWhat do you mean targeted therapy?
I am in touch with the local centre who deal with DID things. I say local, a few towns awayOther than that I think I'll end up with whatever I get referred to (financial constraints). My letter to the doctor, when I finish it, will have something about that though. I would never have bothered to mention it to anyone except I found out it has to do with ptsd to an extent, and may well explain my other troubles that refuse to go away and I don't know where some thoughts come from.
I am puzzled though, about talking to the others. I can't think what they'd have to say? If I wrote them notes they'd probably write something pointless or nothing at all.
At the moment, as far as I see it, they're heavily covering me up and getting on with things and I don't like to muscle in and start speaking. I have heard/spoken with them when absolutely necessary but I dunno, mine don't seem to work like anyone else's. It seems harmonious and yet I'm absent but can guage more or less what's going on now and again. I think the way it is might have a reason though because I've been through rather a lot in a short time. I used to be less absent.
A friend in Iceland sounds fun! I just had a look at all my dictionaries and I haven't got an Icelandic one. I've always wanted to see the northern lights in person.0 -
It depends on what memories your others have, piggles. Some hold more than others and some are more fully developed personalities than others. I have a little girl in here for example who is pretty much like any little girl anywhere. She is very talkative with her own likes and dislikes but used to have terrible nightmares about things that happened to her and had severe PTSD. Her emotions would filter through to me so I would be terrified but not understand why. The type of therapy we had enabled me to meet her and for her to tell me what she had been through. She was then able to be comforted and I was able to help her with her fears and now she is a very happy 6 year old.
It doesn't work for everyone but for us, by being able to share our past experiences made everything make more sense for everyone and helped me a lot because I was suffering with symptoms that I didn't understand which were severely affecting my ability to function. There are others who are there as a face to the world and are kept from a lot of the memories on purpose so that communication with the world is possible without being affected by any bad memories, that is possibly your role but I can't really judge that. That's why I said make sure everyone is ready for specific DID therapy before going for it. Some people with DID don't need any therapy at all, we only needed it initially and now we get on together perfectly fine and are happy to leave things just as they are. As long as it's harmonious you are doing fine!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

ER taken to hospital in the small hours after becoming violent again. Told they'd be going somewhere for a proper assessment at last. Sat in A&E all day. Now trying to discharge despite family saying they can't cope. NHS definitely creaking at the seams. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I am sorry that ER needed to be admitted but glad that this should get the ball rolling, sometimes a visit to A&E is what it takes. How annoying about them wanting to discharge though, hopefully they will listen to reason.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I'm guessing no bed anywhere, problem is once they're home it's a fairly safe bet nothing else will happen, going on previous performance. You do wonder how bad it needs to get before services finally kick into action.
I'm alright melly, just worried for parent who is getting phone calls every time something happens and is getting seriously frazzled because they're too far away to be of much use. Thanks for asking.
Have you had any more feedback after your council meeting? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Do you have a healthy minds in your area? You can refer that's what I did with OH.
No just a letter from the HA saying they didn't uphold my complaint and they had acted within policy that I will need to appeal this weekend.
