  • Hi all

I know it’s been a while since I’ve been on and updated but things have been so busy at work as well as home and I just haven’t had as much spare time as I would normally have. I also am not feeling 100% and can’t quite put my finger on what’s bothering me.

So, on the money front… I have been PADding every day, small amounts mostly as we are drawing closer to pay day and this has been a tough month. Balances are all transferred to 0% and therefore I’m saving money on interest. This pay day will be low due to time off so another tight month ahead in February, we are going on holiday as well so I need to magic spending money from somewhere.

I’ve checked all my cashback and I have £55 tracking via QC and £190 via TCB – none payable yet but I will be a happy bunny when they are!

On the personal/home front I have been thankful to be kept busy, I have been avoiding doing anything which gives me time to just sit and think. Those are dangerous moments and I end up a mess… trouble is, one of these is when I go to the gym so I’ve not been for ages now. I don’t have a gym buddy as I go on my own so I’m just left with my thoughts, maybe another few weeks under my belt and I may feel better or ‘braver’ because I don’t think it will get better.

Back to the money front, hubby has declared his skintness too so we will really be knuckling down and tightening our belts this year.

Hope everyone is doing well on the debtbusting front

  • Another day of the week passed, we are closer to the weekend and closer to pay day which is mid next week... Cannot come soon enough!

This mornings. PAD was a bank round down to the credit card. Again only small but it will all help at the end of the day. I do like a round bank balance, I wish I had known that lloyds do the automatic rounding up on card purchases when I was changing a my account.

So, bank checked this morning and £30 available (after what is due out) until a pay day, small PADs then haha!

I have also checked cash back... Even more tracking now (plus £80.50) in untracked cashback claims but nothing payable yet. We will get there eventually... Maybe birthday time lol

Feeling a bit more positive today and I slept better last night so hopefully this will lead to a good day.

    Have a good day guys

  • Morning everyone, not much to report so far today except my £1.73 PAD to the credit card.

Checked my spreadsheet yesterday and this month (due to using some of my savings to bust some debt) I have paid off 5.18% of my total outstanding.

This makes me feel good :)

    Happy Thursday peeps

  • Hi LMD just popping in to say "Hi". You are doing so well & congratulations on your wins. Not surprising that you've not been feeling 100% given everything you've been through - it knocks the stuffing out of you. Take Care of yourself x

  • Hello there, thank you for dropping by :)

This weekend has been pretty uneventful (so far) and whilst I had a round down yesterday of the bank account to the credit card it was otherwise a NSD so there's nothing to round down this morning... This is probably a good thing as pay day is just around the corner and finances are tight.

Once we get to pay day I will have more to report I am sure.

  • Hi all

I know it’s been a while since my last update but it’s been the end of the fiscal month and I have been really busy…

Pay day was Wednesday and I have PADded over 1400 since then, from now on it’s frugality to the end of the month with the exception of 2 bills which I’m waiting for the statements to be generated for.

I’m still living a bit of a rollercoaster but this hasn’t impeded my money saving outlook, I am constantly checking TCB, QC for cashback to be ready. I’ve finally picked up my first invite from Pinecone so I need to do that tonight after dinner.

I could do with some new shoes for work but I’m afraid they will have to wait. I should really have had a look in the January sales but there were other things on my ‘to do’ list :rotfl:

I’ve had the confirmation statement from Halifax that the card has a zero balance, feel like framing the bloomin’ thing haha.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, heading into the weekend so we all have something to smile about :)

    Thanks for listening

  • Feeling decidedly happy today :)

We are in a new month, more has been paid off the credit cards and I am budgeting and planning in this fugal month for a holiday... Maybe I'm just happy about the holiday approaching but hey-ho, at least things are looking brighter.

I've not been on here as much as I would have liked to be, I feel that I have not been keeping up with other MSE-ers diaries like I used to so I will have a browse this evening whilst the TV provides background noise.

I managed to get a flyer from work today and have already done quite a bit of housework since I got in, the washing machine is about to finish so I can get another load of washing in the dryer.

Housework is quite good for the soul but I always seem to forget until I've done a load of cleaning haha!

As always I have been keeping up with the PADding, lower amounts this month because of the time off still impacting and the fact we have the holiday too. Every little bit will add up though and I will be straight back on it guns a-blazing from 27th February (not actually that far away - hurrah for the short month!)

So, 23 months of debt-busting to go... and THEN we tackle the mortgage. We will still be in our 40's when the mortgage is due to be completely paid but the sooner the better for me. Then we can start retirement planning because I do feel that by the time we are retired there won't be a pension or a retirement age!

I do hope everyone is doing OK and having a good 2016 so far :)

I'm off to sort the washing...

  • So, I've been on holiday which was very nice indeed and now I am back. I've not been away all this time (chance would be a fine thing!) but the few weeks before we went away were just super-crazy-mental at work and I had a job just keeping my eyes open when I got home.

So, came back Sunday, I'd had pay day so walloped a PAD of almost £900 in on Monday, that felt goooood indeed! Small ones since then but we are most certainly back on it.

Holiday didn't break the savings account so there's still £500 in there, lurking, and away from hubby haha.

On the money front things are ok, I'm over paying on all my cards and still managing to squirrel away £250 to savings and emergency funds each month.

The head/heart/emotional front is not so good and I have an awful feelin g that some of the savings and emergency funds will need to be spent on some kind of counselling. I am trying to be strong but it's so hard.

Onwards and upwards, I need to cheer myself up so I'm going to go make myself a posh coffee :)

Hope you're all ok, terribly sorry for whittering on

Glad you had a good hol LMD, but sorry that you are feeling so down - have you thought about talking to your GP?

I've always had counselling via the NHS and I've had a couple of amazing therapists (in Shropshire, so if you are anywhere near I'll let you know the good ones haha) so might not involve dipping into your savings?
