  • Hi all

The PAD this morning took surplus funds to the savings account, £170 not bad :)

Skipped lunch today so that saved me some money, dinner tonight is from stores so no worries there. Now I am safely back home, away from any shops and I get paid tomorrow - Whoop!

Main reason I skipped lunch was the freaky weather, snow, hail, rain, sunshine... Who wanted to go outside? Glad I'm not a smoker, couldn't afford it for starters!

Looking at my tracker, I have worked out that in April I've paid 14% of my o/s debt off. I'm super pleased, even if I did have the bonus as a helper.

I'm already planning my PADs for tomorrow and onwards, the good thing about pay day is being able to make some good dentage into the debts.

    Onwards and upwards!

  • Morning!

Finally payday has arrived and the bank balance has been boosted once more :)

I've made my first payment of the fiscal month to the credit card by a whopping £775, 700 more than the min payment. It feels good, and I am hoping that by PADding to the same card this month and then another whopper next pay day that will be cleared come the end of May.

That's the plan anyway folks... But we all know how life can get in the way!

Just wanted to share my glee that pay day has at last arrived!

  • Oof it's cold this morning... I feel sorry for those who have allotments, veggie patches and prized gardens with this weather! Fortunately I have none of the above so I just need to avoid the black ice on the route to work.

My PAD has been made this morning and I've sent £30 to the EF. Trouble is, I can't remember my log in for it so if an emergency should happen I'm not sure how useful it would be! Perhaps I need to switch so that account holds my 'sabbatical 3-6mth wages challenge... They're both at the same amount at the moment anyway.

Woke up full of cold this morning, glands swollen last week... I think I need to reevaluate my vitamins!

Nothing else to update on so I'm off to work, have a good day everyone and keep smiling

  • Finally the end of the week and some time to relax is on the cards... 3 days off too whoop! :T

I managed to finish work early today and I've battled around Mr T's to get the groceries in for next week. £10 under budget too so that was a bonus. So far (and it's very early days) I don't think I've missed anything this week!

Plenty of food in for the weekend and batch cooking to be done, out on Sunday and then family time on Monday.

    That's the plan anyway :D

PAD this morning was £350 to savings, we are saving for some home improvements which we can't really put off much longer. The trouble is you make a start and then something hits you left-field.

I have £11 on its way to the current account from TCB so that'll be a nice PAD when it lands. £56 still tracking via quidco but still not payable yet :(

Oh well, will be nice when it finally arrives!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

  • Morning all, just a very quick update before I dash off to work. It's very busy this week so I'm trying to get in early every day. Better than finishing late and getting held up in traffic!

We thought we had saved enough for our home improvements and started to get some quotes but it looks like we are not quite there yet and need another months worth of savings, unless I decide to use the interest free o/d for the first time - it would be replenished come pay day.

So, another frugal month lies ahead and it contains 2 birthday bashes, they will have to be less spendy birthdays haha.

I've been PADding my daily PADs but now we are on to the skinnier amounts until my 2 credit card statements come later this week.

Managed to do some batch cooking at the weekend so the freezer is now well stocked, true to form though I forgot bin liners from the weekly shop so have to go back.

On the up side, quidco have finally confirmed some of my cashback and £25 is on its way to Paypal - excellent :D

    Got to dash!

  • Hi all

Just an update on what's been happening, PADding has had to take a back seat whilst we put all we can towards the work in the house/garden. I have still beed adding some 'bonus' payments though including £7.50 from topcashback and £3 from Shopmium - so glad I found that as I love free and discounted stuff!

Other than that things are pretty much the same, I'm still trying to spend less and save more. I'm determined for the house costs not to dip into my emergency fund and 3-6 month fund, that's why the PADs are stopping for the short term.

Car service is due at the end of the month too. Just when you think you've saved some money everyone wants some from you!

Positive note for the week, got a better deal on home insurance, saved £12 a month on the DD and got £23 cash back too. :T

    Off to work I go

  • Seems ages since I posted an update, life gets in the way and I find myself rushing about, always busy with one thing or another. The house money is saved, so I have started my PADs again, a massive payday one where I tried to pay everything I could (2x cc payments not statemented yet) so I have more days for rounding. I end up paying more that way.

There's nothing much else to report, my counselling has started and seems to be helping, although I know that this is a very long process and there is no magic wand to be waved.

I'm still checking TCB, Quidco and Shopmium every day to see if there's any payouts available or new Shopmium offers... nothing lately. Still disappointed in the slow process of Quidco, I much prefer TCB.

Anyway, I'd better go or I will be late for work...

    Cheerio!
