Already halfway through the week following the bank holiday weekend and today feels like it's been a good day.
Only a small PAD of £1.47 this morning, courtesy of a quidco payout but that'll do nicely thank you very much
Following last weekends manic rushing around arranging car-booticle items I've decided that the weekend ahead will be nice and peaceful, maybe a trip to the flicks or a dvd under the snuggle blanket on the sofa. I may even treat myself to a face mask, although that may be a step too far!
I'm feeling ok about money at the moment and the counselling I've been having is helping with my head. A lot. That's a good thing I think...
I'm still seriously overpaying on my cards to try and bust the debt as quickly as possible, perhaps have to reign it in for a few months on the run up to crimbo but once that's out of the way we will be gung go again.
This Christmas will be "not on the cards", not in any way, shape or form. For we are currently all interest free and I really like it that way!
Have a good evening peeps

I'm making myself useful this month and doing the counter-upper duties over on the Payment a Day thread. It's amazing just how much all of those payments add up!
Day dreaming recently about what I will do with my spare cash once I've cleared my cards, I'll have close to £1000 expendable income each month instead of servicing debt. That's a lot of cash...
So I think I will save to go on a few lush holidays and then long term I think I'd like the luxury of a cleaner a few hours a week so I can really enjoy my weekends instead of having to clean for half of it. I can dream! :rotfl:
Nothing much else is new, I'm pleased my EF got to target but the car has developed a gimmick and I've had to make a booking at the dealers for it to be looked at so I have a sinking feeling that may have to by borrowed from before the month is out. Whatever I have to take out I will make sure I put back in come payday, the contribution to the 3-6 mont will have to suffer for a month.
Let's hope it's nothing too serious...:o
The current accounts are looking as healthy as they can be when I've paid all the debts haha... I have some left over after budgeting for obligatory PADs and another regular card payment is due tomorrow.
That's all folks... what would you spend your money on if you didn't have debts? (if indeed you have them!)

Definitely holidays for me LMD....that and saving for a forever home!

Ooh now you're asking!
Back to: Cuba and America (separately of course!) and India
Then new places like Thailand, Singapore, Maldives, an African Safari, I've always fancied going to Moscow but I think tensions would have to settle first. I'd like to see the fjords, go on a cruise and have a hot tub in the snow in Reykjavik.
All dream destinations for now though, what's on your list Kirtsypoos?Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25710 -
Sounds a fantastic list!
Back to: Cuba, New Zealand and the Maldives (and Sharm El Sheikh once the airport issues are sorted)
New places: Mexico (for the diving), Cape Verde, Mauritius, Australia - especially The Whitsundays (for the diving and snorkelling), Thailand, Vietnam, Dubai, Bali....I could go on forever!
We will be heading back to NZ at the end of next year to see OHs friends and family, and then it's time to get to work on the rest of the list
How was India and whereabouts did you go? It's not been on my list but I'm fascinated by the place!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I think your list trumps mine, you've been planning for a while?
As for India I worked there for a while, sent by UK company and stayed near Delhi. Was great but you get a poorly tum! We got to know some great people and could sight see at the weekends. Took a trip to the Taj Mahal and Red Fort which was great. It's terribly stark though, the difference between the haves and have-nots.
Oh and nothing, NOTHING can prepare you for the smell!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25710 -
I got the travel bug when I was much younger - we travelled to some lovely places with my parents and I got the taste for different cultures and I love diving so always want to go to dive hotspots. My list has been growing for years, and changes on a weekly basis.
Looking up holidays is one of the things that keeps my debt busting going - seeing all the amazing places I could afford to go when I don't have over £700 of snowball payments per month to make.
I'd love to see the Taj Mahal, but I was devastated by the poverty in Cuba so I don't know how I'd cope with India.
Would you recommend Delhi or other places more?:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I've never been asked I'd recommend it to be honest. I guess if I went again I'd go to a more touristy area such as goa. It wasn't really a holiday for me you see!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25710

I see your point, hard to explore a place when it's work based!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Another weekend slips through my fingers too quickly, between housework and errands there's not much time left for enjoyment this weekend. I will make up for that next weekend though with the girls!
At least today promises to be sunny and nice, which means washing on the line instead of in the dryer... Saving a few pennies there!
Really need to start thinking about Christmas soon, least year I made everyone give me a list of wishes, it saved loads of time so I intend to do the same again this year. Hubby always has a load of things he'd like so his will be Paid for with my September wage, leaving Oct and Nov for the rest of friends and family. I refuse to spend December wage on xmas gifts, even though we get paid early.
Lots going on before then though, weekend away is first, then holiday in November, will be nice to get some winter sun as we are heading back to the Canaries.
I'm still PADding daily, bank round downs now though until I get paid again. I can't shirk it as I'm the esteemed counter-upper can I?! My weekend away is being kindly covered
Ebay sales didn't happen so I guess I will relist later in the month, might even try a post on Facebook to see if there are any local takers.
Ah well, can't win em all!
