  • You know that way when you just sit staring at your computer thinking "Man, I have sooooo much reading to do tonight"
I got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down

  • I am in my fourth year and live in halls. I work as a sub-warden so my rent is massively subsidised, money saving at its best!

Sometimes i wish i lived in a house but tbh i really can't afford to. I haven't been able to work during holidays due to ill health so i needed to find a way to save money.

  • How is everyone finding the new monthly payments for loans and YSBs? Personally I love it, but I'm not sure if this is only a Scottish thing as I know some of you were left hanging for the payments and we never ever seem to have a problem with money from SAAS.

Also, got the dissertation supervisor I wanted! She is totally the best in my department and is great, great, great! Yay me.

    How is everyone else?

You curled up in an exhausted wee heap Elise? hee hee

  • Hi SF,

this probably isn't what you want or need to hear but when I am too exhausted to do any uni work I just leave it to one side and either have a nice nap or watch TV or do something that I know will help me unwind.

When I do things when I'm tired its a waste of time as I know the next day I won't be happy with the work and will re-do it, meaning that time I spent doing it whilst shattered was wasted. I also feel like when your tired and then have a sleep or rest you feel much better when you go back to it later.

Bearing in mind this is just what I do, I don't know if this is helpful or just silly to you xxxxx

It is just a Scottish thing and I am not liking it at all! I know it's meant to help people manage their money better but I think I'm going to end up with less money at the end of this year than I did last year. I'm pretty good with money and I don't need to be nannied by the likes of SAAS and the SLC. Grrrr! I use a good chunk of it on train fares every month and I know I can claim some of it back it still leaves me with less in my account than I would like. Most of the people I've met have been against it.

Oh I can understand you not having fun :rotfl:. Have you ever watched the sunrise whilst frantically sewing a corset?
