I have just gotten a text from O2 that they are going to charge for 0845 and other special numbers from Sept. Here it ends my 'free' calls overseas.

Seems like it makes it a less tempting choice to sign up with. I think I like the idea of paying £10 for the Top Up. Anyone used the O2 simplicity plan?
  • oh wait, i just read more on that matched betting page - i'm lost already :P i'm gonna stick with saving my 5ps and other change hehehe :D

There's a great risk free deal on there if you read the terms and conditions thoroughly, Yukon Gold

I'm for doing some matched betting as a group mebbe when we all get our loans we can set aside £100 or so to do the betting with. An we could have a club challenge where we could see if we could all make a £500 profit. Mebbe not in the traditional sense of a race but teh challenge could be to ensure that all members of the group made the profit. What does everyone think?

Oh and while I'm on the subject of challenges there was a thread ages ago where there was a challenge to make £1000 from nothing. I'm Up for doing somthing fun like that, how about you?

That taking a £100 out sounds a good idea. You could set up a seperate bank account to put it in and use that account for everything to do with making money.
For example, on quidco there are some bingo companies where for example you deposit and play £10 an quidco will give you £30. So that's £20 profit.

Do pigsback, use coupons off your shopping if you can and put the money you've saved into the account, write reviews on ciao and use ebay to sell things.

The pubs down in Didsbury have a really high turnover of staff so it was pretty easy to get a job and if you still want one for next term i'd get your cv in now as the summer staff back from uni will be leaving soon but then all the students will be returning! so get in quick! its also a good laugh, abit crap pay but tips are normally good, upto £20 on a saturday night alone. i saved all mine then too it to Ikea and B&Q and boughts loads of stuff for our house. Are you going into your second year now?

thanks, good advice there. I will do cos a job is well needed at the moment - do you know what happened to the clock tower btw?

Yes I am going into my second year can't wait, how about you?
