Could always have a look at cashback links for similar stuff - there was some really good ones for a few bingo sites on quidco a while back, they might still be there. I believe one of them was offering £30 cashback for signing up, and there was a minimum deposit of £10 - definate profit!**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0

I was going to read through the whole of this thread but then saw it was 149 pages long! I see that Chika is at ManMet, are you down on the Didsbury campus? I'm doing business at Aytoun but i live in Didsbury and work at one of the local pubs! I've been working there over summer to tide me over till my loan comes in! Best bit of moneysaving recently was putting my boyfriend on my car insurance saved me £50! I'd suggest any student to put their parents/older sibling on their car insurance, it should bring the price right down! My phone is 15 months half price line rental but it is chequeback, i've missed one out of the 3 which was £85 down the drain but £35 a month is still cheap for 500 mins and 500 texts! I've sat down and looked at my loan and with my income from my job i'll be able to put aside half my loan to save for a house! and then the rest will go on my rent and i'll have £400 a month to spend on anything i likeSave £12k in 2017 / Dec 2017 Travel Cash = £12,400 / £14,000 88.5%[/COLOR]

Its interesting reading honestly!
I live in didsbury too and I'm at the didsbury campus. Dead handy. I haven't been able to find a summer job which has been a pain, i never thought to try the pubs.

I'm on 3 pay monthly and the coverage is fine - check to find out id your area is covered here http://www.three.co.uk/personal/help_support_/network_coverage_/index.omp
Been with them for 18 months so at renewal time they offered half price line rental for being a loyal customer - bargain!
Also, if you ring 3 saying your brother has recommended you and get a contract then you both get £30 off your bill. See http://www.three.co.uk/personal/customer_/recommend_/refer_a_friend.omp0 -

The pubs down in Didsbury have a really high turnover of staff so it was pretty easy to get a job and if you still want one for next term i'd get your cv in now as the summer staff back from uni will be leaving soon but then all the students will be returning! so get in quick! its also a good laugh, abit crap pay but tips are normally good, upto £20 on a saturday night alone. i saved all mine then too it to Ikea and B&Q and boughts loads of stuff for our house. Since we are talking mobiles...
I just changed from O2 to Orange this year, and when I phoned O2 for the pac code I was diverted to the "retention" hotline where they were all, "If you cancel your new contract with Orange and come back to us we will give you bla bla bla". I stuck with Orange but I was telling one of my CRM lecturers about this and he said what I should have said to O2 was: "If I really was a valued customer YOU would have been on the phone to me offering me this great deal BEFORE I decided to leave and go to Orange". His point was basically that mobile companies can undercut ANY deal, even their own, so he said to our whole lecture that we were to hold our service providers hostage.
If anyone has the b@lls to try this let me know how it goes...I got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down0 -

thank you!! i will do that!!! :j
but you know, i've just had a strange phone call, which i've googled and think was a SPAM call argh - he was saying i'm from such and such company, talking about changing my contract, n i asked him how did he get my number, n he said i must've ticked a box when i signed up for my contract, but that's such a lie right??? i just said errr i'll think about it, i gotta go. lol he said that the 3 contract is actually £20 including itemised billing and VAT, is that true? i know it's not a big difference but i have a feeling this was one dodgy dealer on the phone!!!!:eek:0 -
