Using free proxy services to conduct financial transactions is not a secure environment because a third party could view or record your data.

If it's transmitted via HTTPS and the proxy accepts HTTPS it's as secure as dealing with them direct.

you could say the same thing about using 'free wifi' services, but we all connect to them.

matter of fact, nothing is ever secure in this world.

I complained in writing in October and received a reply 'dealing with' and a 'credit gesture of goodwill' payment to my account. Also said if not resolved in 8 weeks I could refer the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Proved yet again it's blocked by using a VPN to view account so have advised them that I will be taking up their kind offer; referral to the Ombudsman to be sent shortly.
  • Last week, I was able to login using Google Translate as a proxy and pay my bill.
Unfortunately they have now blocked this as well - I can only conclude that this is a deliberate ploy to prevent customers from paying on time, so that they incur extra interest charges.

How can this site still recommend this product?

deliberate ploy to stop you from checking your available balance yes, but not allowing to pay.

everyone knows their statement and due date, and you don't need to login their system to pay.

Actually, yes you do. How else can you even find out how much you owe?

I am owed a £20 pound Amazon voucher from Aqua as well from the sign up bonus but have yet to received it. Messaged them and no reply. Not a very friendly company eh.

Depends when you messaged them I guess. If you sent it a week ago I'd say it's poor service to not at least acknowledge the message. If you sent it a few hours ago or even a day or two I'd say it's fine.

no you don't. Aqua require payment two weeks after statement date which is always the same date each month.

If you have no idea how much you owe come statement date, you really need to keep a closer eye on your spending.

and again, no you don't NEED their system to pay. There are other ways to check the balance.

The issue of the thread is they're blocking you from keeping track of your spending whilst abroad.

    Bolding is your's not mine.

That's not in the OP which expands on the subject. Keeping track of spending while abroad was a reply to the OP which should have been in a separate thread because it's a different discussion.
