Does anyone know what time of day debit card/contactless transactions appear on your online statement?

I saw one on my account this morning, topped the balance back up to £2,000 and a second transaction appeared later in the day..

Interest is paid on the first working day of the month.

I thought interest was actually paid on the second working day of each month (at least according to Lloyds/TSB etc)

Indeed. TSB, LLoyds, BOS all paid on second working day.

TSB sure making people wait a long time for their cashback though, end of month following month it is earnt! I can't bear the suspense, think I spent £120 using two cards:cool:

another fail from me today - Lidl, ever since I had a bank security check done a couple of days ago I have yet to use a contactless transaction...

    will keep trying in October.

I phoned the help desk because of so many failed attempts at contactless payments and I was told that the card has to be 'activated' by using a cash dispenser.
Apparently you need to use the dispenser first, but only need to get a printed balance. I haven't tried this yet though so can't confirm.

I was also told that the 'contactlessness' is only as good as the shops wifi connection to the bank... very frustrating

    Yes, it's exactly the same
If anything the contactless card is better than the Oyster card as you could benefit from weekly capping

One exception - if you have a Railcard (including an annual Goldcard which you get when you buy an annual rail season ticket in London/the South East), you can have this added to your Oyster and will get 1/3 discount on off-peak fares and a reduced off-peak cap.

I have just switched back to Oyster for this reason, as I've just got a railcard and the discount far outweighs any cashback I can earn.

I think it's calculated up to the first working day, and paid on the second working day.

That's nonsense, the standard way is via a C&P payment. But I did try resetting it, after a failure, by getting a screen balance and that didn't work, so I doubt a printed balance would be any better. I'll try it next time just in case, if only to avoid making a 'cashback-less' payment by C&P.

    Also very clearly nonsense.

OK. So I made a contactless payment on 30 Sep. For once, it did show up in the 'Pending' section dated 30 Sep.

It has now appeared on my statement dated 1 Oct. Any thoughts as to which month's £100 limit it will form part of?

I would say it is fair to assume that it will count for October as it is highly unlikely that they would include pending transactions.

Why cut it so fine? You got about 25 'safe' days each calendar month for the transactions to show. Why leave it to the last minute?

That's a full calendar month; I only got the card part way through September. Plus the fact that I shall want to stop using the card in Oct as soon as I know I've spent £100, as I have other cashback cards to utilise.
