I have two questions
1/ my current tariff there is an exit fee of £5, since I,m moving to the same company do they waive this?
2/ how long does it take before the new rates take effect using and going through MSE?
1) That's right, Eon have told us it won't charge an exit fee for existing customers moving to this tariff.
2) Eon need to process these manually, so the new rates might take a couple of weeks to show on your account, but will be back-dated to when your application was received by Eon.
I hope this helps.0 -
Anyone considering changing to EON should read the reviews on TRUST PILOT before changing0

How can there be such a large disparity between the MSE reviews and trustpilot?0

A point to check. The saving of £247 looks to be high for someone already on a fixed tariff. Comparison sites assume that when calculating the saving that you will pay for a month, in your case, on your present tariff followed by 11 months on M and S's standard tariff. This inflates both the cost and savings. The MSE CEC does allow you to check what you pay now against what you will pay going forward. Worth checking that you have latched on to the correct saving.
I second this; had an email trumpeting savings of £191 pa from my current good EON tariff - £188 of saving came from presumption of c/over to standard tariff next March. Saving between now and next March was £3 !!! Since the exit penalty is £10...........:rotfl:0 -
I have noticed that most reviews on trust pilot are first reviews. I'd rather go by personal reviews of friends, relations etc
Question: Why does Eon regularly introduce competitive tariffs for a short period mainly to attract new customers when the loyal customers are not advised/offered any external Eon through its website or sales? Regardless of Eon having to direct existing customers to MSE website, at least existing customers who are comparing tariffs can avail of current EON tariffs at the same time as non-EON customers. Surely its more expensive to process MSE sales manually offering cashback through MSE for each sale attracting mainly new customers who regularly check tariffs and change suppliers while existing customers loose out. Hmmmmmmm!0 -
I'm on the MSE Collective Switch which started in December 2014 with Eon, which I very happy with.
Can anyone from MSE say whether they will be running another scheme on the anniversary of that offer from 2014 for those of us who switched then, or should we be going for this one?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Hi there
I'm afraid we've not yet got planned dates of any future collectives, so I'm not able to confirm. However for most users, the new Eon collective will offer savings on the 2014 collective, so you may wish to take part in this switch.
As an existing Eon customer you wouldn't need to pay any penalty to switch early, although do bear in mind that this new tariff has higher exit fees (£30 p/fuel) compared with MSE's 2014 tariff.
I hope this helps.0 -

It might be a bit of a shame you've been so loyal to it.
Rival deals within days of that one slightly beat it in several supply areas, but then more importantly prices kept falling for another 4 or 5 months.
Thus someone with a different supplier who swapped 3 or 4 more times to their latest versions could have saved maybe £60 or more by now, the last version from March or so being about £150 cheaper for a full year.
That's why I'm not leaping towards this new MSE affiliate deal straight away. It could save £18 a year compared to the current tariff from March, but I'm hoping this is an early sign of other upcoming tariffs being cheaper, and some won't have such high exit penalties.0 -

Hi sky111
Collective schemes, like MSE's Big Energy Switch III, stand outside the main industry framework. We're only allowed to offer 4 credit tariffs and these are the ones on our website and available through the sales teams.
Collective switching involves a group of people coming together, via a Third Party, to negotiate a particular tailored deal. Provided certain rules are met, the industry regulator lets us participate in these schemes. These rules include the need for customers to apply through the Third Party and not the supplier. We're not allowed to promote, sell or switch anyone to a collective tariff like the current MSE offer. This includes keeping it off our website. Instead, customers have to apply via the Third Party. In this case, the Cheap Energy Club. A breach of these rules would put us in seriously hot water with the regulator.
The MSE Big Energy Switch III isn't just for new customers though. It's available to existing customers, too, provided they've a suitable meter.
Sorry this isn't what you want to hear sky111 but hope it explains why the tariff isn't on our website or available through our usual sales channels.
