  • Evening.

Daily stuff done, that's it. But been out all day with DD's, uniform shopping, museum visiting, doing lunch. Back at six, cooked meal, walked dogs (the dog I am dog sitting now smells of something yucky) put kids to bed, cleared kitchen, wrote names in new school stuff and put it away.

JTTOU big hugs x. Pigpen I would hope a good support group would gently support rather than be a scary or pushy place. There is nothing wrong with being concerned and wanting to check out what it is like x

Piggers I feel your dilemma. DS1 is a troubled sole. He is 21 now and I can't smooth his way very much now. DS3 starts senior school tomorrow. He is so nervous. I have to take DH to the station tomorrow, the busses all run at the wrong times here. I am split in two. If I am here for son DH will be late for work. If I take DH earlier my day is 17 hours long. I NEED sleep.

Being a wife/mum is so hard sometimes.

Dog Widdled on the sofa today. She is not popular tonight. The cover is on the banister having being put in the WM with a huge scoop of vanish. The cushion might dry out by half term following the drenching I gave it. I think dog was trying to get back at the (senile) cat. Cat widdled on the dogs bedding drying on the maiden. The cat sleeps on the sofa..... See where my thought process goes?

    Evening all :hello:
JTTOU - Lots of big squishy hugs coming your way :)

I have found things much easier lately. I decided that I was being a bit unrealistic as to how much I could get done each day and getting stressed about it.

Now, whilst having brekkie, I make a kind of plan for the day with a mental timetable as to how much time to spend on things and when to have a cuppa/lunch/exercise/log on etc. I then try to stick to this, doing the most necessary things first, making sure I stop when I had planned to, and not worrying if I don't do everything - the morrow's another day.

Don't know if that will help anyone feeling bogged down - hope so :)

    Tuesday~ Kitchen and Dining area
    Sweep and mop the floor
    Scrub and demould door seals!

I emptied and thoroughly cleaned my roto-fryer, inside and out. It's a job I have been putting off as it's so messy and time consuming - frog eaten !!

    Wednesday ~ Bedroom and Landing
Strip and wash the bedding - DID FRIDAY
Declutter the floor and vacuum it!
    Sort a box of junk/cupboard/drawer
    Dust and deweb
    Tidy the linen cupboard
    Extras

    wipe paintwork
Catch up on a job you've been putting off... phonecalls, filing etc..

(hugs), sticks and spoons all round as needed

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

    Big (((hugs))) to JTTOU.

Definitely, I couldn't agree more - at times of stress instinct kicks in and we do everything we can to protect our family unit. It's not surprising that we are torn between our family members, as we try to keep them all safe and meet all their differing needs. And life's pattern is not fixed: every year, every month, every day is different, and somehow we rise to meet all the different challenges.

(((Hugs))) and a big handful of spoons to you today, Mumto5 - hope you can grab 40 winks, or at least relax for a few minutes, during the day.

This is roughly what I do too. Personally, I found the weekly lists incredibly helpful when I was trying to get my house sorted out, but I don't need to do everything on them every week. I still take a quick look at them each day, and pick odd things off them to do, and I have kept a copy of Dusty's deep cleaning guide which I occasionally refer back to: doing this also helps me see just how far I have actually come in 3 years of flying. But like Honey Bear, I hate dusting, so I only do it when it shows :rotfl:

...which reminds me: next time I hoover our bedroom, I must move out the bedside cabinets (the bed alcove is only just wide enough for the bed and a small set of drawers either side) as I noticed yesterday that the skirting board down the side of mine is thick with dust :o

Yesterday I managed everything off my list except the Fleabay bid: I got home, cooked tea, WUDUPA because DH went out, and it was 19.26 when I sat down again at my computer and the item I wanted had just been sold to someone else for the starting price  It was local to me, so I could have saved on postage :(

    So today's list is:
    - write an urgent email before breakfast
    - S&S kitchen and tidy pile of junk on table
    - shower, S&S bathroom
    - take DH to play on the railway, then drive on to visit DS2 and family for the day. Looking forward to seeing how much DGS3+4 have grown in a month :)
    - if possible, read another chapter of my book while babysitting DGS4, who will hopefully oblige by having his morning nap while the rest of the family go for a dental check-up :p
    - pick up DH on the way home
    - if time allows, call in at the pound shop near the station to look for some plastic boxes of a particular size
    - cook tea
    - stir cake fruit and line baking tin (ready to mix everything and bake the cake first thing tomorrow)
    - make a few more resources
    - watch Bake-Off

    Catch up later x

DH was delivered to Stansted before 7. I got back in time to see off DS3 (pics on FB). He left at 7.35. Ridiculously early! DS2 used to leave at 8.10.

I have that abba song in my head. 🎵schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning. Waving goodbye with an absentminded smile🎵. Always makes me misty eyed.

Nobody else is up. I need to have some breakfast and busy myself with the ironing.

Hugs good wishes, posi vibes sticks and spoons to all who need them
PigPen I hope the support group is just that support and advice.

Mystery solved, DD2s partner gave DH a new iPhone I hadn't realised it had a different sim in and Dh has never sent a text in his life, he always passes phone to one of he kids and asks 'tech dept' to do it that is whichever child is nearest so I didn't think he was capable of doing one himself. It was his first ever text. Gave me and the kids a laugh anyway and now they know he can do it he's on his own in future when it comes to texting.

Weather looking good here so plan to get more washing done.

    Morning all

Mumto5 hugs sweetie. Was thinking of you yesterday, I was at your county cricket ground for work, must get together soon. I hope DS3 has a great day at school.

DH dropped at the station, off to NY for a few days so it is down to just me and DS3 at home for the rest of the week.

Paid stuff for me today and then I said I'd go for a walk with DS3 looking for any late blackberries.

WM is on, I may have time to just clean the shower room before I go.

    Have a good day.
